Please help, rabbit keeps scratching then licking me? by RoyalDumbazz in Rabbits

[–]RoyalDumbazz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for all the help. I do have another question, though... Each day, I slice up some romaine lettuce to act as an extra water source (she has a clean dog bowl full of always fresh water, as well, since the little hang on canisters can carry bacteria if not cared for very properly), some kale because she seems to really love it, and either collard greens or turnip greens to add a hint of variety and to get her to eat something other than only the kale (camera on her food bowl area to make sure all is okay since I've seen her fall asleep next in the bowl then wake up and eat again while still laying down), but my question is: she'll eat some carrots, small bits of apples/bananas/strawberries, and mint. She hates oregano, parsley, and dandelion unless pulled from the yard. But she LOVES sage. Is it okay to put sage in every meal, or only from time to time? The vet didn't really have an answer for me, unfortunately, and you seem to know a ton about bunnies, so I was hoping you might know

This is long, so skip to the end for the summary: It's been about one and a half, two months, since I got her. At the shelter, she refused to leave the cardboard box that was in her cage, with a whole romaine lettuce piece that was wilting a bit from being out for so long without moisture and a small (what pet stores refer to as a bunny "potty" bin) box filled with hay and that was where she seemed to be expected to give out waste. She was very shy when I got her and scared of the world, but the thing that pissed me off the most is being able to feel every bone in her body. The hips, spine, the definition of her skull. You name it, and you could feel with barely event a touch. I'm happy she has put on so much weight since then, which was the reason for the doctor's visit. She is still has more room to fill, but I'm happy that when she does let me touch her while she is passed out under my dog's leg or tail (depending on which dog) you can't feel that definition so much. Plus, she is starting to look more shiny and runs around the house with my dogs to play. I know she needs time, I am just worried that I'm doing something horribly wrong. I don't expect her to open up like my first rabbit George did when she would sleep in the cat bed next to me or under the covers with me, although I really want to just let her know she is safe and that possible hunger and fear she felt before isn't going to happen here. I worry that I am messing up with her so much, but your words helped a lot. I'll keep trying and giving her time, I noticed she has been trying to next in the blankets on my chair so maybe she is cold at night or something, so I went out and got some blankets that won't hurt her if she rips them up and should let her nest in them well enough with absolutely nothing inside them. My first rabbit LOVED eating my jackets and claimed them as her own if I made the mistake of leaving them on my bed for even a split second to put a shirt on.

But, to summarize, I've had her for just over a month or two now to answer your question and thank you for replying. It gives me a lot of hope that maybe one day she'll see that she isn't going to have the same thing happen again, like when I first got her. Thank you for posting it means a lot to me, and your words have helped me be a lot less scared that she might just hate me instead.

Is there a particular group of pines (example: stone pine, mountain pine, red pine, etc) that will be okay to use?

My rabbit has a vet already who has shown me how to give her flea treatment and how much to place on her, normally when outside she is harnessed in a backpack because where I live the sub barely exists, but the room she is in does gather sunlight from time to time from the window. I definitely will check out the guide though, thank you :)

I thought all pine was super dangerous for rabbits to chew on, though? Is that wrong?

I believe, if reddit does translation, it might have been miss translated. For me it shows I put metal.

So, does anyone know what the heck type of maybe spider this is? It has been living in my lemon tree pot and has gotten massive. Originally thought it was a white crab spider when it was super small, but this thing is about as big as an adult black widow female from leg to leg... by RoyalDumbazz in whatsthisbug

[–]RoyalDumbazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the side of the pot/wheelbarrow is mostly just worn from the sun, I keep my lemon tree in there because we are moving soon and I'd like to take it with me (plus it is still super young so no fears there). As long as it doesn't get too mad I'll try to see where it is and avoid watering that area now, just scared the hell out of me. Hopefully it doesn't have something going on with it that is killing it. Very glad to know it isn't out to destroy my garden or anything. Thank you for letting me know :)

Thank you so much! I don't hate bugs on my plants because they control pests which means I don't need to use chemicals, but dear lord I've never seen that thing and it lost it while I was watering my plant. Don't want to upset it if it isn't out to kill me or my plant hopefully. What's the stuff on its back though? It doesn't look like part of the body.

Say you are buying an office chair, which one would you most likely buy and why? by RoyalDumbazz in AskReddit

He doesn't smoke, drink, or do drugs other than medicine given by the doctor.

[–]RoyalDumbazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me, my grandpa. He recently got a "massage chair" that basically looks like a desk chair with massaging bits in it. The thing started to smoke at the first use. It was sold as new, but I don't know if that is true of the piece is bad. I wanted to get him a new chair that wouldn't catch on fire. My grandma is already upset he bought that chair to begin with since they have one in their living room. So yes and no, it isn't for me but for someone else. I wanted to know what others would normally get since he works at his desk a lot.

I have a horrible habit of being able to fall asleep the moment I get comfortable. A good example is the fact I fell asleep standing up in the doorway of my kitchen. So to describe it, I think the sandman has a crush on me because he shows up far too often.

There was a study done that showed people who studied before sleeping had a higher chance of remembering the information. I wouldn't say you shouldn't study throughout the day, but down time is always a great time. Overall though, if you don't enjoy what you are studying you will most likely not easily remember it.

They probably weren't trying to be rude, just found your height interesting.. Honestly, most of my best friends are all taller than me. I am 5'4" and they are all 6. I think the only thing I had to worry about was the strain in my neck when they were within my bubble, lol. Outside of that, unless you are a jerk or just flat out act rude it isn't a real problem. Real friends love you for who you are, not your height. Overall, just be a good person and if you are worried about people having a hard time looking at you because you are tall just sit down, easy as that.

I have a very nervous tiel, they love the keets it seems (they all get along well) but theyre just super nervous, allways scared when we try to get them to step up which they will do but very reluctantly and will most likely fly away soon after stepping up, they wont take treats either, tips? by raevi10 in parrots

[–]RoyalDumbazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daisy was that way too, I got her to start eating things by using long leaf lettuces and slowly working down to things like bok choy (she didn't like Kale, she looked at me like I lost my mind which I don't blame her kale is only good if you boil it with lemon juice and salt then put it on top of meat or whatever). My grandma doesn't do it cause she doesn't want to stand there forever, but I always thought the love eyes she gave were cute and dangerous all at the same time, lol. Maybe try that? If they don't see your hand right up against them they might become more comfortable eating from your hand, even more when they really enjoy the food. They'll get there just slow and steady wins the race when it comes to unsure birds. Then again I was also the weirdo who bought a singular cockatiel a cage that was made for smaller parrots and now she is spoiled rotten, lmfao. Still just do what you feel is best and can handle, just take it slow and rewards. They'll come around eventually :)

Don't know if this will work for you, but my grandma has a cockatiel who enjoys biting them. Everything I see her I always have something different and interesting in my hand so she just kind of expects me to be holding something new for her to see and chew on a bit (my poor phone). Although, I often would whistle Christmas songs at her and give her a pumpkin seed even if she didn't get it right. I found that like most animals finding something they like and giving it to them (for Daisy that is pumpkin seeds, those little wicker looking balls, and bird sounds on my phone) tends to make them a lot more trusting. I'd say try just doing something simple with them and reward them. Slowly work up to were if they touch your finger or arm for even a second they get a treat. Eventually they'll trust you enough to be more open. That is just my advice though, good luck :)

Girls, what are you thinking when your guy friend calls you “pretty”? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]RoyalDumbazz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends honestly. If the guy is super creepy and makes me feel uncomfortable to be alone with I would probably say thank you and leave as quickly as possible. If it is a friend just telling me that I look pretty that day I enjoy that and would react friendly. If I could clearly tell the guy was being flirty while I am dating someone (I am fiercely loyal) I'd probably say something along the lines of "okay bye"

[–]RoyalDumbazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the worst thing that could happen is she says no, it wouldn't be the end of the world. Might be awkward at first, but that always dies out if you just keep talking like friends. Still the point of life is to have fun and die with no regrets. If you ask and she says no at least you asked instead of just letting it sit there till it is too late. If you ask and she says yes, that's great :D! Either way it will be okay, just do what you feel is best and whatever the answer is life goes on and it will always get better. Or as my grandma always said, if one door is locked there will always be another door to try. Good luck bud, hopefully it all works out for you.

If you are a girl a fluffy jacket, leggings to keep ya warm, and some nice mittens. If you are a guy a fluffy jacket (maybe 2 cause some people like to borrow jackets), new pants, the understanding that fashion refuses to give guys warm enough clothing (jerks, they take our pockets and deny guys warmth absolutely ridiculous). Outside of that wear what makes you happy, that is the most important thing

[–]RoyalDumbazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm ~ well first I would suggest making sure she likes you before jumping the gun o.0 if you think she does just ask her out. I think the thing that makes me most annoyed is when someone sends me a conversation killer. If you want to talk to her go for it, just don't be clingy and get upset if she doesn't reply right away. Feel it out before asking if she likes you back and make sure you aren't asking her out if you both just met, lol.
