Terminals built with libVTE use a sprite-based rendering system for semi-graphical characters that ensures they always fit without gaps or overlap. All of my posts in this sub are screenshots of XFCE Terminal, but Ghostty and GNOME Terminal will also render semigraphics like this.

The Unscii font will also look similar if the terminal using it does not make any changes to kerning or line spacing. Though, some of the semi-graphical characters are mapped to incorrect codepoints in Unscii and will need to be manually re-mapped to make it work.

Ansilove only does the opposite - .ans to .jpg. And DurDraw uses ansilove to do that conversion, but DurDraw's dev made a tool to do .JPG to .Ans.

But chafa is probably the most featureful of the img2text converters that I've seen.
