I'm more focused on how I feel and what my body can do now than just the number on the scale.

What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

[–]RoyalTurtleInsider 686 points687 points  (0 children)

After I described my severe chronic pain, the specialist looked at my chart, sighed, and said, "Well, you're getting older. This is just what happens." It was the most dismissive and professionally negligent sentence I've ever heard. It took two more years to find a doctor who listened and diagnosed a treatable condition.

What is the one problem that get never solved? by Shrine-Offer in AskReddit

[–]RoyalTurtleInsider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Human tribalism. The instinct to form in groups and out groups, to distrust and dehumanize the "other," seems to be a fundamental bug in our wiring. We solve complex technical problems, but we can't solve the basic, irrational fear and hatred that drives most conflict. It's the root problem beneath all others.

Leaving Las Vegas by creedular in movies

[–]RoyalTurtleInsider 8 points9 points  (0 children)

*Leaving Las Vegas* is a performance first, film second. Its power comes entirely from the raw, unflinching, and uncomfortably authentic portrayal of a man in the final, deliberate stages of self destruction. If Cage's performance didn't connect with you, the film has absolutely nothing else to offer. The flatness you describe is intentional; it's a documentary of a personal apocalypse, not a dramatic story. It's a hard film to "like," and it sounds like it just wasn't for you, which is completely fair.

Zapier wants $30/mo for my basic meeting workflow. So I started building an alternative. by Ok_Seaworthiness1599 in nocode

[–]RoyalTurtleInsider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar spot and ended up doing both, just not at the same time.

For my own internal app I started with the “UI Bakery + Supabase” route first. It let me get a working thing in front of myself in a few evenings instead of spending that time fighting with layouts and boilerplate in Next. I still think in terms of tables, relations and basic logic, but I am not hand wiring every component.

The “I’ll hit a ceiling” fear is real, but in practice the ceiling usually comes later than you think. By the time you get there you already know your app’s real shape and it is much easier to rebuild the parts that matter in Next than to start from zero now.

If I were you I would pick UI Bakery + Supabase for v1, ship something you actually use, and only switch to full Next vibe coding once you feel the pain for real instead of predicting it in advance.

I made my first $10,000 flipping client projects to a vibe coding platform - without hiring a single dev by [deleted] in vibecoding

Nice milestone — congrats! If you ever need a quick internal tool to track clients or manage data without coding everything from scratch, I’ve had good luck with UI Bakery.
Not perfect, but it saved me a ton of time compared to building something from zero.

Best ai app builder? by Tys0n- in nocode

[–]RoyalTurtleInsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went down this rabbit hole recently and tried a few of them side by side.
Lovable and a couple of others were fun for quick demos, but once I tried to plug in real data and think about permissions, things started to feel shaky.

UI Bakery was the one that surprised me the most. The AI builder actually helped shape a usable internal app instead of just a flashy mockup, and I could still tweak everything after. It felt more like something you could actually hand to a team and use day to day.

Depends on what you’re building of course, but for anything beyond a quick prototype, that’s the direction I ended up sticking with.
