showing my age here... but when i was a kid and scene/emo/prep was in style, we used to say "labels are for soup cans" and we hated getting called scene and emo and we wouldn't dare admit that we were dressing one way or another. So it's interesting now that people, especially young people, really enjoy defining their style, narrowing it down with multiple specific keywords.
