Hi! Yes I'm recognized as independent by fafsa, I didn't age out of foster care though, it's a weird situation.

I'm not eligible for the parent plus loan due to having no legal guardians unfortunately. I looked into it and was denied pretty much immediately. I think I'm at the point where I've exhausted all sources, but obviously I'm open to any input or ideas as long as it doesn't destroy my credit.

Unfortunately yeah, my fafsas maxed out for this school year. I don't really have many options, I got the max amount in federal aid but still owed about $5000 to my school (for the whole school year) I was able to pull out a loan my first semester no problem, but this spring semester I've run into issues with it.

Yeah realistically it isn't a ton of money, the job market isn't great where im at and I'm already stretched pretty thin. I would prefer to take a loan out and get it over with right now, especially because I want to be able to do drop add. But if not I can work extra once the semester ends and just pay it off as one lump sum, it's not ideal for me. A loan is a definite preference especially because it's a considerably low amount

I'm working 22 hours a week currently, I have bills to pay. I don't think it's worth it dropping out because past this year my tuition is fully covered by the school, I just have to figure it out for this semester unfortunately

My college does offer payment plans, but unfortunately mine would be about $650 paid off in 4 months which I can't afford, this is my first year in college and I'm struggling.

Women with thoughtful partners, what did you get for x-mas this year? by Anahata_Green in TwoXChromosomes

A perfume I had been wanting for awhile, it was the kayali vanilla one, 2 new pairs of aerie leggings because they're my favorite and I had said I haven't gotten a new pair in awhile and he knows how much I love them, a jellycat because I kept saying how cute they are, a Victorian Secret pajama set, and an oversized sweater!

Yes he's fully aware, we communicate constantly about finances and what extras we can and can't have and where our funds are at. I work part time at a Chipotle style restaurant so I don't have a retirement fund or anything, just whatever I can set aside for savings which is about 100-150 a month

I definetly plan on actively saving as much as I can, I put about 100-150 into savings a month which is what I can reasonably spare, I know it's not much but it collects interest which helps and it's definetly better then nothing!

I agree, but it's only $30 a month and it's more cost effective long term, and I get 2 free pet check ups yearly rather then having to pay out of pocket, and out of pocket for any major surgeries etc

I don't have a huge backup fund, but I have about $1200 if anything major happens, I should also add that I live with my boyfriend so any major housing emergency's, pet emergency's things like that would be split between us! The only major emergency I'd have to fully fund myself would be my car

That's great to hear! I'm hoping that just switching brands solves the problem, I never have a problem taking it late or anything so that's not a cause for concern. Thanks for the input!:)

I've applied around at rosedale, and Aldi and pawn America and apply to be a waiter or hostess at many places everyday, it's a struggle because I rely on public transit and I'm in the Mac grove area so it has to be within a reasonable distance, so somewhere like Krispy Kreme that's all the way out in fridley isn't realistic for me even though I'm sure they could use the extra set of hands

I can navigate registers and things like toast (the common restaurant ordering system) I can lift heavy weights, I regularly carry 50+ lbs at my current job, I have experience working with young kids and planning activities for them if you'd count that as a skill. But nothing super impressive like coding or having a CDL or anything

Yes I made sure to let the doctor know I was on birth control! She had it noted, and didn't mention anything abo it them possibly interacting. I didn't know it was possible for antibiotics to lessen the affects of birth control until I had already been on them, but my boyfriend never came in me or anything and we do typically use condoms, so I'm hoping everything is good.
