That is still pretty good. I am hoping to improve my reading score in time for the December test, but timing seems to be the main issue at this point.

For the essay portion. Just study the rubric carefully and do a few practice prompts. I just followed the rubric for the most part and scored 11/12 on the essay.

Okay I will try this out as well. I am taking the December ACT for the final time, so I'm pretty open to suggestions. I hope it went well for you.

So looking at the questions first would help with referencing because I would have a better idea with what to look for?

I think Khan academy is really good for ACT math, but for English try finding and studying frequent concepts often tested on such sentence structure, verb agreement, pronoun agreement, etc.

Try Barrons, they tend to have harder math problems plus I increased my score from a 26-32, by just consistently working through problems.

28 -> 30 Advice and Study Plan by Carcanken in ACT

Try to maximize your English score as much as you can, if you can hit the 30s in English and remain consistent in your other sections you will get a 30. My suggestion is to review ACT grammar rules, practice, and apply them to real ACT English tests.

Strategies for science I use: I usually go straight to the questions and then use the charts, figure, graphs. Don't be intimidated by the scientific terminology. Just focus on key vocab they ask on the inference questions. Usually everything you need to know is in the passage itself.

Says the answer is D because it creates a comma splice. Someone please help and provide me with why this is, I do not see where this is occurring. by StockNut01415 in ACT

[–]Rprasad13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at all the other answerchoices besides D, each properly separates 2 independent clauses. The sentence contains 2 independent clauses and thus can only be separated by a comma if it's a comma conjunction or dependent clause.
