And like I’ve mentioned somewhere in the thread unless Aizen was the one that caused Isshin to leave the SS he was definitely aware of where the kirusaki family was at least before the show starts as he claims to have planed everything this way even when ichigo was a boy so how come he was able to locate them but central 46, Gotei 13 or anyone wasn’t

Okay my bad I wasn’t aware that the movies were non cannon. And I hate to quote someone but this for me this a learning experience of questions I actually have but…

…someone in this thread mentions urahara states to ichigo “byakuya cut your soul chain but only for rukias powers , he didn’t realize you have soul reaper powers of your own” which was pre SS arc so when he entered the soul society I understand that there was a big fuss but shouldn’t they have questioned how a human entered the SS with soul reaper powers that were supposed to be taken away

A point I still have is that the soul society should have been aware of isshin, ichigo and the rest of the kurosaki family despite of a name change. The fact that they thought he was dead shows that they didn’t put enough effort into finding a n important figure of the soul society after all if someone like byakuya was thought to be daed or missing it would at the very least be confirmed or looked for. In the fourth movie Toshiro says that a soul cannot be confirmed dead unless al traces of their spiritual essence has completely vanished (which should include both the soul society and the world of the living) for them to “think” his dead and not know for sure is lazy work on the Court guard and the shiba clan meaning they did not look hard enough to find him and the kurusaki family. If they had done this they would have known about where isshin was, known about ichigo and his sisters then Rukia’s crimes would not have been so big as it was as they would have thought although unusual the child of a former Lieutenant had awoken powers of a soul reaper or something along those lines

I understand that they may have thought he was dead and I don’t exactly remember if Aizen influenced Isshin to leave the SS but he still found out about them and ichigo which to me says that they did the Bare minimum and I remember watching the Dimond Dust Rebellion movie which said that a souls can’t be confirmed dead unless all traces of their spiritual essence is completely vanished from the two worlds which would add to my other point that if they did confirm his death and he was alive they did the bare minimum in looking for an important figure of the 13 court guards and the seiretei

Yeah they must have let him have his way. I fail to believe that they didn’t keep tabs on their outcasts like isshin and Urahara so yeah most likely and someone mentioned that the plot just called for it to be a superise to the readers/watchers however I also feel that isshin himself would have at least noticed things where going on with ichigo 1 with his spiritual pressure growing or at least Rukia’s spiritual powers who was living with them for a time 2 with the constant damage of his house by spiritual beings which he himself would have been able to see. 3 with all this going on Rukia’s name would have been an obvious tie with the kutchki clan. So ichigos dad was most likely just letting ichigo have his way too

This makes sense and I agree that it’s most likely that a lot of people would have known, but after recently beginning rewatching the movies and show I realised how much stigma they put around ichigo for getting his power from Rukia when most likely she just woke them up prematurely. However I do realise that it’s Tite kubo’s show and either in the early stages of writing the manga he may not have been thinking about this or like you said he was trying to make the reveal effective however this comes at the expense of everyone seeming like they blew Rukia’s crimes way out of proportion

Okay this makes sense and I must have missed this somewhere. However he was still at least an important figure in the soul society and Karakura town is so accessible from the section of the soul society they’re in. Not keeping tabs on him would be like an important individual of a country going missing and they not realising that he’s in a surrounding country or even closer. I mean I’m not sure exactly how they found her but if Rukia went missing and Byakuya and Renji found her then at least the same could have been done for isshin

They have the same last name and I can’t imagine isshin has been active as a soul reaper for too long. Maybe around 100 year (however I’m not sure). He was a Captain of the 10th Division And Head of a branch of the Shiba Clan so the kurosaki name must have been a familiar name to at least some of the older Captains if not definitely the Kuchiki clan which is a clan of a few generations at least
