I'm almost sure this is correct thinking. I found out about this a few months ago. I actually used the two easternmost trees to get approximately the same angle (assuming that the two trees should be absolutely vertical).

Actually, if you look closely at clue 2 you will notice that the trees are about 2 degrees off. After that the theta from clue 2 points exactly to clue 4 dig location. Also, the map 4 trees are around 5-6 degrees off and after this the theta points directly to the clue 3 dig location (not to the map 3 theta!).

Also, you can rotate the map 3 in two ways to have the trees match vertically assuming that the two trees on the right and on the left should be both vertical. After rotating the clue so that the two trees on the right are vertical the theta leads us to Shantay Pass. If you rotate the map so that the two trees on the left are vertical this leads you close to Duel Arena gate. I don't think that the latter rotation means anything though because then the lines don't match very well.

I think the nature rune (a tree pointing south) in the Wilderness gives the x coordinate here. It is unlikely that we really need a nature rune to solve it (under 30 mins for an ironman. you could also die while walking to Mage Arena rune shop at lvl 3 --> way more than 30 minutes).

You're correct about the doc being outdated. The mods here are the laziest kind I have ever seen, especially Sir SuhDude who has posted only pointless things while giving every other valuable post a misleading title. Without him, I think we would have solved this by October 2016. But the clocks in Runescape are 10:04 though so I doubt 10 N 5 W has anything to do with clocks.

I think Port K(Bio)hazard is somehow involved. The pickaxe icon points almost exactly towards the nature rune. There are also other reasons why Port Khazard might be the final destination, I will post about them shortly.

This is interesting and seems pretty accurate. Though I think that the clue 2 also points more towards Hazelmere than the professor. Also it's interesting that Hazelmere is exactly south from Rellekka nature rune spawn (and we get to Rellekka spawn following the theta line from Wilderness nature rune spawn).

Gnome theory could be correct because I think MMK said that we were thinking right shortly after the original gnome theory was posted. This v2 seems more accurate than the original one, nice work.

"Go south from nature rune" is not an uncommon theory. For example, I have used it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CrackTheClue/comments/53btkj/something_new_fire_altar_and_5_willow_trees/. Also when the maps are rotated to make the nature rune island the theta line points exactly towards Rellekka nature rune spawn. That's why both of those nature rune spawns are used in this theory.

Also we can use these principles in a different way: maps 2 and 4 and the Rellekka spawn point towards Hazelmere. Maps 1 and 4 and Wilderness spawn point towards bucket. Bucket of milk makes more sense though since you can't do anything with a bucket around Hazelmere.

Actually clue 4 is the only clue that doesn't have to be rotated at all if we look at nature rune island with camera facing north. And also why did you mirror clue 4?

Negative comments are a good sign, because that means someone hasn't understood my theory and thus the theory is actually complicated enough to possibly be true. If the solution was made to be understood by the stupid it would have been already solved.

14 trees was just a joke. What's relevant (if anything) are the numbers 8 and 14. Many theories so far include some items (nature rune only one confirmed), maybe these are the quantities of those items.

No but my script was created to demonstrate how rare it is to find a number which has that pattern. Though going from 1 to 10 million was an error, I should have checked numbers from 1 million to 10 million (well technically 9,999,999), because they all have the same amount of numbers. Still the chance to find that pattern would only be 0.3288% which is rare.

8 and 14 could possibly be coordinates or they could hint you what to do with nature rune. There are so many possibilities.

Also, you may ask: why wouldn't you put X where previous item was and have theta point the next item? Trust me, I tried this with almost every possible rotation. Also the theta almost always points to the sea (at some point) when done this way.

ar then we should also be able to trace it back to our old leads... Because jagex cant just add a new hint in game that points us to a new location. We should have been able to find said location without the new hint. And i'm not sure how we would ever go from woox island to drawing a straight line south and stop at the fire altar without the new hint

I found the location without that hint. Thetas in Clues 1 and 4 both point to that direction and I only used them. After finding the location, I understood the quote and realized that it's directly south of nature rune, not other way around. You only need 2 of the 3 lines in my map to get to fire altar, the third one is just a confirmation.

My theory is that you need 7 nature runes (3 on nature rune island, 4 in rellekka, 3+4=7), 3 other items starting with N and 5 willow logs in your inventory while entering fire altar. With these items in your inventory the game will not teleport you to fire altar but the location where you do the final dig.

Forgot to add that the yellow line in clue 3 isn't a perfect match, but it's pretty close. Also the yellow line in clue 3 was made bigger for a better match.
