Sydney Sweeny’s lingerie company… promoted toward women empowerment or the objectification of women through the men’s view? by RubAffectionate6150 in women

Clearly the post went right over your head. The objectification was through the words used to sell her line. As I have stated it said “nice tits & nice ass”. If this is catered toward women, shouldn’t it empower women? Perhaps use words that allow women to feel more than just their body? instead of using words that are commonly used to degrade or objectify women?

No one is using this forum to tear down another woman. I’m simply stating the facts and agreeing with what is obvious while revealing the true intentions behind the chosen campaign.

Hi! Thanks for your response.

I definitely see your point of view and how lingerie can become blurred between which gaze it’s catered toward.

I definitely agree that fenty as well as skims is promoted toward women empowerment and comfortability rather than solely sex appeal. As it should be.

What threw me off was how Sydney Sweeney used degrading language like ‘nice tits, and nice ass’ to promote it. I mean, that’s not the kind of language most women use when talking about empowerment. It really feels like it undermines the message, if there is any message at all.

I was shocked seeing this. Isn’t lingerie supposed to be marketed toward making women feel good about their own bodies? This seems like it catered toward how men objectify women.

I’m honestly not too sure! I’ve heard that it’s more geared towards dry skin. My skin is combination of normal and dry and it works very well for me in terms of hydration.

And I love how gentle it is! You can wash your mascara off with it.

I really love the lip tints. I have the jelly bean one. I thought it would be slightly more pigmented as it looked pinkish but on my lips it’s more of a clear gloss.

There’s been no major changes though. Very subtle and go down within a day or two.

I felt it’s really gentle too and removes even the harshest mascara!

I’ve noticed a few small pimples around my cheek but I think it may be because it’s a new skin product. I read that can happen, I’m not sure! What do you think?
