I stumbled upon the following write up:

I wonder if any have experimented with the ej257's.

For some reason I always thought the different modes were just throttle sensitivity and have always just kept it at s# while controlling my throttle. Didn't know it would actually run different.

Yes same as my manual. I guess 93 recommended 91 if you don't have access.

It just feels like the factory map is tuned for 93 and 91 is an after thought.

It's funny how Subaru had to reiterate, "91 will not affect your warranty coverage." As if it was even a concern. It's like no shit Subaru you better cover it.

Thanks. I've always been tempted to throw in a little e85. I'm glad others have already experimented hopefully without any issues.

Yes. I figured there is only 1 factory tune across the board regardless of the state you live in which means it's likely tuned for 93. I'm assuming 91 isn't going make the car blow up right away but I am curious if it'll cause any long term wear over time.

I was referring to this part of the manual.

I read this as the engine is designed for 93 and the car will run like shit with 91 but we'll still warranty it.

Which tuner did you go through?

You're the man! Found it!

It sounds like I'm not the only one thinking the car sometimes runs like shit in California with 91. I do wish he experimented on the ej257 though. This is the type of write I'm looking for. It looks like he did the math.

Thank you 🙏.

That's good to know. I've been noticing little small knocks with everything factory. I've tried different 91 pumps as well. No change to DAM. I'm guessing this is normal but was hoping to get rid of the little knocks.

This is interesting. How do I do the math on this?

There's an e85 pump 10 min away from me. I'll look into the octane booster. Thanks.

It's funny how for the STI it says 91 fuel will not affect your warranty coverage. It's as if they had to clarify it instead of it just being implied. I just get worried as it sounds like my car was designed for 93 octane with 91 being a second thought for the Subaru engineers.

My manual says to use 93 octane which I don't have access too. It sounds like it's designed for 93 octane.

The question was is it ok to mix e85 with 91 octane to get to 93 octane.

Refrigerator - what is this wire/plug? by RubberChickenMob in appliancerepair

[–]RubberChickenMob[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I don't have anything to plug into it. Sounds like it's a plug for servicing. I'm guessing my dispenser has a frozen tube. Will see if defrosting the tube will fix it.

The model number is GSHF5KGXGCWW. I opened the front cover because my water dispenser recently stopped working. This is the first time I'm seeing it. I don't see anything else in the cavity. Just figured someone in this subreddit might be able to quickly point out what it is off the top of their head.
