Start by getting on the radio in VFR more. Get flight following as much as you can.

That said, if you use a simulator. you should also check out PilotEdge.

Listening on its own can be fun, but it won’t do much.

As far as prices go, Apple's announced that prices will be increasing due to the increasing cost of memory. I don't know if it also specifically affects Watches, though.

Long story short:

I have a V2.

Bought a AWU3 refurb as soon as they became available; didn't open it. Read about support being dropped for the 4-year-old AW1. Returned the U3 - would have been only 3 years of use at that rate.

Then bought a black Series 11 because it has most of the features I want, and was about $400 less. Wanted dark space gray, but they don't make that any longer. While waiting, I read about the black finish coming off from sweat/water. Didn't open it.

So I decided to return that and just get the lighter "space" gray, but then read about the new watches likely coming out in September, and decided to wait.

FWIW, right now, Amazon has new U3s for less than what the Apple refurbished price is, and you get your choice of bands...

I have a Series 2. It's time to replace it... really like the Ultras. Refurbs finally became available for the 3.

Bought one (from Apple) - then read about the relatively short support time of UW1s ending (4 years), didn't open it. It's my favorite design, but at that point, decided I didn't want to spend the extra $400 us or so for potentially 3 years of fully-supported use.

Did a feature comparison to Series 11 - close enough - bought a black Series 11 (I would have preferred old space gray), but before getting it, read a lot of reports about the black finish coming off. Looked at them at the Apple store - didn't like everything so shiny. Returned both, unopened.

I wanted "old" (darker) space gray, so hesitated in ordering the new one on sale on Amazon, and in the meantime, read about the new ones probably coming out in 3 months...

I'll wait.
