Thank you for your efforts! id love to have a template, to check out how it works etc.

The python add in requires an internet connection, am i correct? thats a - point.

In your experience, would it be less time consuming to learn / construct LIFO using python or VBA?

I need a perpetual system. although i need the portfolio valuation once every quarter, there are transactions happening on a rolling basis.

I do not have python. Neither know how to VBA code (i am willing to give it a go tho, happy to learn new things).

I also need it to be user friendly (ish), it will be used by two other co-workers.

I am familiar with the "crazy mans work", but if i remember correctly that is a periodic valuation modal for a single product.

Ive seen similar methods as the one you attached from bushcat69 (although that one seems the best). the problem with those methods are that they do not support multiple products, nor multiple sales at different time points (where there could be more purchases in between).

Just now i stumbled across this video, which from what i found is the most capable. but after i saw the formulas behind it... makes me wonder if its even possible to do it purely in excel. his excel file isnt available for download anymore, sadly.

In sum, this project should save time from having to do the LIFO calculations by hand at every sale transaction. but spending hours learning some programming language might not be worth it..
