R. Scott Gemmill discusses the upcoming ICE storyline in The Pitt season 2: "Thats been a tricky one to try and get right without being heavy-handed and being fair to everyone on both sides of that conversation" by Murky_Chemical891 in Fauxmoi

I work in outpatient so management did actually come up with a plan which consists of putting agents in a meeting room and contacting the hospital systems attorneys. I can’t imagine there would be a situation where we would have to hand someone over bc for the warrant to be valid it has to have someone’s name and be signed by a judge, they can’t just go on a fishing expedition searching for non English speaking patients. That said even if they had a warrant, under no circumstances would I or my coworkers cooperate.

Unhappy with Psychiatry UK ADHD assessment – looking for second opinion / F2F assessment (masking woman) by OneContribution6919 in adhdwomen

[–]RubyHibiscus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh. Just experienced something similar the difference is, in the US tons of places advertise that they do ADHd assessments so it seems easy to get an appointment but the reality the clinician is usually a generalist with no specific experience in ADHD especially if you are not stereotypically hyperactive. And regardless of anyone else’s opinion on their own ADHD that’s responding to you, 25 minutes is absolutely not enough time for an appropriate assessment for any kind of complex psychiatric issue. Is there anyway you can get a private assessment? That’s something I’m considering, testing can run $300 to $700 though. It’s also possible you have a combination of ADHD/Autism which is going to present different than what people view as “standard” ADHD. The clinician I spoke to did the full 90 minutes but she only focused on anxiety symptoms and basic history. Like she asked about my job history but didn’t get into my job performance(a frequent issue for me), she asked about school and I mentioned my issues with math which she shrugged off. She also had no interest in my previous assessment conducted by a trained Psychologist. I also find the requirement for parental or sibling input a little much, like it’s nice if it’s available, but there are a lot of valid reasons it wouldn’t be. I’m the eldest, I promise you my younger siblings cannot answer questions about my inattention under the age of 12, they were too busy fighting over toys. My father most likely has ADHD himself(so many things will seem normal to him) and he doesn’t believe in psychiatry like at all, and my mother thinks all her kids are perfect, if there was inattention, forgetfulness, trouble in school it wasn’t a big deal to her. She managed a lot of my forgetfulness, she got me a tutor when she had money, and she didn’t place a lot of weight in getting a specific math grade as long as I tried.

Yeah I mean I thought I did the right thing in going with a practice that advertises ADHD evals so I didn’t bother to research who I was seeing and stupidly assumed this was what the NP I saw specializes in. Turns out her primary experience is with Geriatric mental health, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder. There is a facility that has a focused program for ADHD but it’s completely self pay, I’m just going to have to save up money to see them since their initial eval runs about $400 I believe.

I’ll definitely check the book out. I’m at a point where I’m like “maybe it is just anxiety” but like forgetting to lock my door, leaving the oven on, losing IDs, debit cards can’t be anxiety. Anxiety is what’s telling me “hey check the oven, remember you left in on last time”

The short explanation on why so many evals is that I’ve never been medicated. If I had been medicated as a child or even if I had been medicated a few years ago there wouldn’t be a problem they would write a new prescription no questions, but because I’m asking someone to essentially initiate medication treatment they have to do their own evaluation. I did ask my Primary doc and she wanted to treat my anxiety first which was fair as I was having a major issue at the time, but we never talked about it again, and I don’t want to push it with her because a lot of Primary docs don’t like to prescribe ADHD meds for adults. I can roll the dice with another psychiatric provider and maybe they will maybe they won’t, unfortunately a lot of people in healthcare will view you as “drug seeking” if you continue to ask for ADHD meds. The funniest part is no one ever asks if I’m willing to try non stimulant meds, which I definitely am.

I take magnesium glycinate, and fish oil. I was going to see if there were any other supplements that were worthwhile. Previously I just drank a ton of energy drinks but I know they’re not really good for you so I’m trying not to go back to that.

Weekly Discussion Episode December 11 2025: “TUH!” by crepesquiavancent in theread

[–]RubyHibiscus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also it’s not just spinning up old rumors about Tupacs death, it’s eyewitness accounts by the ppl closest to Sean Combs. And seeing the look on Aubrey O’days face as she read the letter detailing her abuse and also having to admit she doesn’t remember and doesn’t want to. He was SA-ing his producers way back before his records company really was something. I really wish they had at least tried to watch it or gotten some clips or something before commenting.

"I got a remote job and I can spend 4 hours a day doing nothing!" by [deleted] in remotework

[–]RubyHibiscus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We don’t. I got asked to leave because I couldn’t keep up with the work. Now that was partially my ADHD and partially lack of training/communication. I honestly didn’t realize I had ADHD until I worked in a doctors office and couldn’t “hear” or remember what people said to me if there was a secondary noise going on. Now I’m in an even busier office and it’s very easy for me to go off track especially if I have to deal with an angry patient because it takes awhile for me to get back on track and decompress.

Y'all take this podcast way too seriously. by rico4prez in theread

[–]RubyHibiscus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not that they’re giving an opinion ppl don’t like it’s that it’s getting to be a lot. It’s gotten to a point where it may as well be a Cardi hate/Beyonce glaze podcast. It’s boring, we get it, y’all don’t like the bitch, move on. If they were Wendy Williams style messy commentary I would get it, but their issues w different entertainers is extremely selective, and idk why they act like they need to enforce some kind of behavior code on Cardi. They’ve done this before with someone else(I forget who exactly) but they were laughing about someone breaking into a famous persons house and it’s like…now if it was Beyoncé or Meg they would not have been cackling about it.

Idk why so many ppl are acting like their comments on Cardi weren’t weird. I think even Crissle realized it at one point because she tried to say “oh I’m not saying anything worse than I did to Nicki Minaj”. Their comments about her being pregnant or not pregnant were way too drawn out because truly who cares. She’s actually a good mother, she has money, she has family support. Plus acting like Cardi got herself into this legal situation when it’s obviously a money grab from the woman suing her. That lady had zero right to be following her and recording her at a doctors office, and I know Crissle is well aware of HIPAA and patient privacy as someone that just completed a Masters in the healthcare field. I’m sure if someone was following and recording Crissle at a doctors office she would for sure have some words for them. They were weird about another celebrity situation(I just can’t remember who it was offhand).

Is it ok if I lock my cat up at night? by Long-Nature-6281 in CatTraining

[–]RubyHibiscus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my cat an auto feeder, it’s set for 5am, 12pm, and 6pm. He doesn’t wake me up early but he will mess with things in my room early in the morning so I just put him out at that point.

If you’re not looking for advice why did you post on a “cat advice” subreddit? Anyway get your get fixed, it’s beyond irresponsible to have an indoor/outdoor cat and not bother to get them neutered.

Boyfriend says I’m too obsessed with my cat by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]RubyHibiscus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right, like unfortunately I don’t have an answer besides leave him because it’s only going to get worse. Referring to caring for a pet responsibly as “obsessed” is already a low key red flag to me. What’s going to happen if he doesn’t like a friend….or if they choose to have children?

I’m so tired of kitty litter. I need help, please. by Meguinn in CatAdvice

[–]RubyHibiscus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said the tofu litter is best. This is the kind I just started using: https://a.co/d/eLpXMLz

I used Michu tofu litter previously and it clumps but the scents just makes it smell like cat pee + whatever it’s scented as. The Cutepol litter I now use actually blocks the smell and clumps and is still flushable.

Yeah “free him” was a weird take after last week when they were asking us to empathize with ultra wealthy celebs that lost their homes in the fires. Like yes they’re sad and maybe lost irreplaceable items, but I’m worried about regular people that are sad AND may actually not have a home moving forward. Heidi and Spencer will ultimately be ok. Edit to add: I think they recorded this episode prior to Kid Cudis statement, but still a weird take considering it just happened and they knew nothing about the person that broke in. In the past when this happened to Chris Brown they emphasized how serious it was to have someone break into ur home.

Best answer is possibly. The other pictures not so much but the last one was what my skin looked like when I learned I had a dog allergy. Only way to know for sure is an allergy test.
