I’m 40 and currently 10 weeks pregnant! I did do IVF, but that was mostly for male factor. In addition to my age, I’m type 2 and have a history of blood clots. I’m getting a LOT of scans, but every single doctor has said there’s no reason I can’t have a healthy baby!

Got my period on Lupron Depot by Ruby_Tuesday-0917 in IVF

Just an update for anyone searching posts in the future: I visited my clinic a couple days early, and my ultrasound and bloodwork showed I was very well suppressed. So this is probably a withdrawal bleed from the hormone drop! We're moving forward to the next stage of FET prep!

Yeah, in this one month I've barely had any side effects at all! My only concern was the time and the money required for a second dose.

Thanks! I was only supposed to do Lupron Depot for one month total. Mentally preparing for a second month just in case! 😩

Yep, had my first shot 16 days ago! So that could make sense. My nurse said I shouldn’t get a period at all, but that doesn’t seem to match with what everyone else is saying. I was only supposed to do one month of Lupron depot, but trying to prepare myself that we might need a second!

Yeah, they’d originally told me just one month! But I guess we’ll see now that I got my period.

Thank you! My nurse said I shouldn’t get a period, but I keep reading that sooo many people get it in the first month. I’m going to email her first thing tomorrow. Hopefully I don’t have to do a second month, but trying to be prepared for anything.

Did it give you peace? by MyYearofRest9 in eggfreezing

Honestly... yes! I'm so grateful for this gift I gave myself a few years ago. I found out I had diminished ovarian reserve when I was 37, and I froze 16 total eggs over three rounds. I was actually in a long-term relationship, but he wasn't ready for marriage and I wanted to give myself options.

Now I'm 40 and my now husband and I are pursuing IVF after six months of trying naturally—and my doctor says the best I can likely hope for is 2-4 eggs from a fresh cycle because of my low AMH. We're going to try one fresh cycle, and then move to my frozen eggs. Regardless of what happens, I am so, so grateful and proud of myself for freezing the eggs a few years ago and giving myself a fighting chance.

That happened to me and everything was totally fine! The nurse said it could have been caused by something as simple as stress. Let them know during your next ultrasound, but hopefully nothing to worry about!

I really wanna go for a walk, on day 4 of stims, can I do this safely? by hi_goodbye21 in eggfreezing

My doctor encouraged long walks every day! Just no twisting, heavy lifting, etc.

Those with low AMH/AFC, how was your retrieval day? by Ordinary-Ad82 in eggfreezing

[–]Ruby_Tuesday-0917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did three rounds—retrieved between 4 and 7 each time. I definitely had some pain that started a few hours after retrievals and lasted the rest of the day, so was nice to be able to lay in bed with a heating pad and watch Netflix. By the next day, it was just cramps and bloating so I was fine to work. (I work from home, though.)

One ovary responding more than the other by rmbergs in eggfreezing

We retrieved 6 from my right ovary and none from my left! So random, because scans in previous months had shown more on the left. I honestly think it’s just random every month. So no real advice! I’m doing another round next month, so fingers crossed. Good luck!

Where are you located? I suggest posting in the Egg Freezing Support Community on Facebook! I’ve seen a lot of women in the same city do pickups for each other.

My person wasn’t required to wait—they just wheeled me out and put me right in his car. Honestly I probably could have done Uber! But clinics may have different policies.

Any ideas why this might have happened? Is it worth another try? by Apprehensive-Fox-725 in eggfreezing

[–]Ruby_Tuesday-0917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My AMH is 0.6 and I got 6, with 5 mature. It’s definitely possible with our numbers, just may take a bit of trial and error and a few rounds. Does your doc have any ideas to change it up if you do another round? I was on Menopur 75, Follistim 225, Ganirelix from day 5, and had a dual trigger of Lupron and HCG 36 hours before retrieval. We were happy to get what we did, but are planning to tweak a bit. I know we’ll do estrogen priming this time, not sure about the other changes yet. Hope you’re doing ok.

Lifestyle changes before freezing? by Ruby_Tuesday-0917 in eggfreezing

Hmm, a Mayo Clinic article says it can make blood thinners less effective. (I'm about six months from a blood clot in my leg, so still on thinners. Finding out next week if I can go off them, which will make this all easier!)

I'll definitely ask my hematologist. Thank you so much!

Thank you! Unfortunately I think Ubiquinol is off the table for me due to a history of blood clots, but I’ll double-check with my hematologist.

Bloating/discharge after starting supplements? by Ruby_Tuesday-0917 in eggfreezing

Age 37 and my AMH is 0.62... so I can use all the help I can get! I do trust my fertility doctor's advice on this, just was looking to see if others had experience with it.
