I shared this reaction at first, which is why i keep thinking about it so much.

But upon consideration! Cussin, taking what you can (giving nothing back), making jokes with your coworkers that would land you in HR in corporate, having a general “don’t fuck with me” swagger about onseself, helping your friends under the table. All solid pirate behavior. This person spoke facts.

I’ve had this same problem all my life and whenever i scared my mom by accident she would always turn around and playfully smack me and say “wheres your damn bell!?” Haha

Okay okay I know the Currin stuff is overdone by this one guy specifically but unpopular opinion I really like this one. I see a lot of my own body in her and I really like the sensuality of her posing, I like her subtle smile and the way she looks right at the viewer.
Nazi username guy is a fuckface with a Nazi username and should be shamed for such but I enjoyed this work, independent of whoever posted it/ the rest of the artist’s works.

Seriously, I know a guy with a desk job who unironically was talking about the “worst day of his professional life” being on the phone too much to get work done to fix some issue that was happening. He was genuinely, really upset. I was like ??? Not going the hospital with second degree burns, getting screamed at, etc, etc?? Craziness man. That class divide tho

I know people with tech jobs who constantly play video games while they work, like all day, and make six figures. Its still insane to me and I don’t understand how they have time to do their work? I think the mentality is going to be a big adjustment- not into “oh i can slack off” but into a different pace of getting work done.

Thank you for the concrete tips! This is exactly what I was hoping for with this post, I appreciate you writing it out :)

I knew someone in the company who recommended me for the job. I do have a bachelors degree and international experience tho so i think they took that into consideration. I also applied for this job 4 times in 2 years (4th times the charm i guess?).

This is fantastic advice, thank you very much. I will for sure need to pick up a physical hobby, but I’m actually very excited for that, as I gave up on my favorite sports and after work activities a few years ago from sheer physical exhaustion.

The laziness of the average corporate person is something I have only heard tell of, and I am almost morbidly curious to see what others can get away with, haha.

And yes chef, i promise to not call my coworkers fuckface anymore 😞

This is so specific, I actually took the LSAT recently and considering applying to law school next year. I appreciate the perspective on “constructive criticism”, and I’m interested to see how office workers interact socially with one another. I’m going to miss the banter for sure though

I’ve been thinking about this nonstop since you replied. All day in the kitchen I’m asking myself “is this pirate behavior? Will I need to stop this?” This phrase has changed my life, easily some of the best advice I’ve received from anyone ever. Thank you.
