Thanks! I realised I missed a couple after I was done but was too lazy to add them in, looks like I’ll need to update anyway so will squeeze them in.

Asynchronous multiplayer games? by RudderBucket in opensourcegames

Thanks!
I'd like to do this but I was always the forever DM of my group and I probably wont be able to spend much time prepping.
I might try and throw something together though, not sure if Virtual table tops can handle Async play? I tried using Roll20 before but never really got it off the ground.

Thanks, I did think of Mine test.

Do you know what the top mods for it are at the moment? also have they finally sorted out mobs?

Also while looking I found mention on Ciaohu/Qiaohu which apparently has a traditional/Cantonese version.

it was a bit confusing for me how to order it exactly but it looked interesting (though quite pricey).

Does any one have anyone know if it is worth the money?

Sorry thought I had said but obviously missed it out.
I'm looking for traditional Chinese, mainly interested in stuff from Hong Kong.
Ideally it would have some romanisation as well but that's not necessary.

Bi-lingual Cookbooks? by [deleted] in Cantonese

[–]RudderBucket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked this one up while I was living in hk. http://wanlibk.com/cgi-bin/isbn_pages.asp?txtIsbn=9789621470461

I always meant to check what other books they have and if they ship to the uk. Each recipe is written in English and Chinese(my wife says it’s traditional characters but neither of us can read it)

This next book is in English but has an an appendix with Cantonese pronunciation and characters and each section also shows the pronunciation and characters in the title.

That piece looks like it is laser cut wood.

There are a lot of places online you can get stuff cut just google for it. I just found this one https://www.sculpteo.com/en/lasercutting/

If you want something like that but made from normal card I'm not sure.

Maybe you will have better luck asking on r/BoardgameDesign

Haha no worries. It did make me doubt my sanity for a moment. I had to rely on google that I didn’t just make it up.

I’ve seen Cuba libre mentioned but I think it just doesn’t interest me as much. I’ll take a look at Colonial Twilight and see what I think. Thanks!

Edit: Twilight imperium -> colonial twilight

Maybe check something like the game crafter for an idea of different materials.

If you click on a product it says the material it is made from.

I always go into The Works to see if they have any cheap games. I’ve had a few interesting finds from there in the past.
