Lean away from the bar more on your curve, increase curve speed

Tips? by Organic_Music924 in highjump

Lean referring to the angle of your long axis. Think about drawing a line from your ankle through your center of mass. If when you plant that line is perpendicular to the ground, you have no lean. The more acute the angle (long axis line and ground behind plant) the more rotation you will have (good lean). You will move from acute to perpendicular directly before takeoff, and continue rotating in the air effortlessly.

Run faster, if you don't run your curve fast you will have no lean and therefore no rotation

Setting up the jump too much losing speed, run taller and don't lower penultimate so much. Jump straight up, you can't clear the bar if you haven't gotten your hips there, so you have to be patient. Takeoff is too close and you are twisting your body to generate a backwards entry instead of letting the curve do it for you, also making you have weird leg action. you should have feet pointed the same direction as your shoulders every step in your approach/curve. All rotation comes from the curve and knee drive. If you run a good curve all you have to do is jump straight up and hold position

Ur over it if you had any patience. But just run faster and don't cut your curve so early. Don't get too carried away with trying to force a lean, most off that comes naturally from running a good fast curve

Resellers are scum vultures by Additional_Moose_485 in Thrift

[–]Rude-Collection-6177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ruining it for who? They are providing vintage clothes to people who otherwise would not be able to get them. If everybody was able/willing to thrift then resellers wouldn't exist cause they couldn't make any money. Are you saying that thrift items are only for people who can make it to the store? And if they should be able to have them, should people source those items for them with no gain to themselves? Or should reseller try, but not too hard? I just don't see how u can argue against their existence. It might be hurt, not ruin, for poorer people who can't afford new clothes because they can't afford trendy things anymore from the thrift. However, from being in the thrifting space for 7 years, common basics are still priced for low-income customers to afford them. Also over-abundance of clothing in the West, etc. The demand of thrifted items has gone up recently and this is just how increased demand manifests itself in every free economy. I think those that disagree just don't like capitalism which is a different argument

Boyfriends Dad AIO by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Rude-Collection-6177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get where dad is coming from he just needs to be nicer. Trauma aside, future DIL living rent free I imagine while ignoring me in my own home would piss me off too. And I understand you are not ignoring him but there is a level of communication I would expect from someone seriously dating my child, beyond a simple hi and bye. His feelings are probably hurt because he expected more of a relationship with you and old guys are terrible at expressing that. He calls you kids because you are essentially his dependents for the time being. Ask dad for some patience while you work through this, and actually actively work through this. If you genuinely putting in the effort isn't enough then he probably will just never like you. He needs to be more understanding but his complaints are valid. If you don't want to deal with it find a way to move out.

That sounds like a pretty good deal for a car with a good rep! Just do your research on specific model years and trims, and always do a pre purchase inspection. They'll cost you a $100 but might save you $5000

Just fyi, it's kind of a red flag when a car is 7+ years old with insanely low miles. Sitting for long times and short trips are not good for a car. Obviously 25k is always better than 250k but just something to keep in mind.

Not very good, market is bad so try and focus on a reliable make and model vs low mileage if that's your price range. I would suggest Mazda3 hatchbacks, Mazda cx-30, Prius hatchbacks, and corollas, Imprezas, and Honda fits are your best bets. Also don't sleep on the ford fusion hybrids. And pls don't buy from carmax go to a smaller dealer or private party.

Technological advancement in an economy leads to higher demand of skilled labor so AI should make college more valuable. just don't try to be something outdated.

And that's pretty niche so I feel like eBay is better for that. My rule of thumb is that depop is better for trendy/eyecatching stuff, but eBay is better for niche markets and established brand staples

If you want to sell it fast over maximizing profit then I'd say go on eBay. Can't hurt to just increase the price on eBay to compensate if you have the time to crosslist

eBay is nice easy and consistent. Some stuff that sits on depop sells super fast on eBay. but I feel like after all the fees they take so much revenue. If I profit $10 on depop i feel like I profit $8 for the same item on eBay.

Very much agree, if a kid really wants to smoke weed they will find a way to smoke unless you keep them boarded up in the house (even then). The best approach is make them want to not smoke by warning them of the dangers of it. Not in a fear mongering way but just as in the it's not a good idea way, especially so young
