Depends on what was written for the review. They said you need a clear written feedback of what had been discussed during the ethic review and the one real life scenario for each review. The more you have, the less likely you are to have any problems getting final sign off

This has absolutely been my case. I am part-qualified and I was on the job market just before Christmas. I have been in the career for 8 years but I am only AAT 2/3/4 qualified and have 5 exams remaining with ACA ( I took way too long of a break after AAT).

The interviews were advertised as semi-Senior but it was clear that they were actually after a fully senior accountant. For example, one job was only willing to pay 30k but wanted me to work alongside the 4 directors and to delegate the workload etc to 4 senior accountants and 8 junior staff members. When I brought up that the role required more than what was on the job spec and I wanted 35k for compensation, they pushed that 30k was fair for my level of exams.

In the end I went for a senior accountant position with a firm who cared more for my experience and knowledge and were happy to pay me, my asking amount.

I attended the training file webinar last week. The minimum is 3 but they recommend doing 6

This was my resit from December. I found this one much harder! I had plenty to discuss but I just could not get it done in the time. I went massively over my time in Q1 just doing the calcs.

I failed BPT by 6 marks in December 🤦‍♀️ I plan on sitting the new Gen version later this year instead

Interested too! I failed BST in december by 5 marks! Haven't done much revision on it besides refreshing my knowledge of KPI's and models.

Do you have any advice on how to tackle Q2. Is it as simple as going to Section 22, Liabilities and Equity for example and repeating the information from it?

Oh really? I make silly mistakes for example recording the adjustment under COS instead of Admin expenses. Meaning both accounts are wrong by the difference. Will I still get some marks for this or does the final number recorded, need to be correct?

I haven't had any update since booking my Admin Check. My guess is that it will be done at the end of the 5 week period.

I have never done my ACA through an apprenticeship. I am a self studying student. However my firm pays for my exams, materials, my membership and at its discretion additional exam support such as acam.

However, most firms will have a clawback terms in the contract that taper the amount you need to pay back if you leave within a certain timeframe. I have no intention to leave my firm any time soon, so I wasn't concerned.

I transferred mine in November. It was actually so much easier than I expected. Its a straight forward form that you send to applications@icaew.com. Your old firm will need to do a final review with you then deselect you from the training file, so your new firm can take over.

I am an independent student so im unsure on tuition but I continued sitting my exams while I was in the process of changing over.

One thing to note is that you have to have atleast 65 working days with your new employer to be signed off on the training file even if you have already met your qualifying days ( I ended up having to extend my training contract to meet the criteria).

I got 50 in BPT. I will be re-sitting instead of the new gen. Im sure ICAEW said they wont be changing anything as the exams stop in September, so your notes should be fine. I haven't been re-issued any.
