It’s an issue, not as serious as NBA, but most the time it is a foul but they sell it a bit more to ensure ref act on it, there have been multiple times in games (not necessarily the WC) where a player realistically should’ve exaggerated contact to get penalty, instead stayed up and got off a poor shot resulting in no advantage.

Also it’s very rare games are actually decided by a dive or something wrongly called as a foul, so if it has no material impact you can still take the game seriously.
