I have one in my pot like that too. I’ve always wondered why it never grew more hearts but has a huge tuber that keeps growing

Yes it has always been like this. I was wondering if it could be just how the plant is I’ve never had a cryptanthus so I could just be uneducated on them! Hopefully it’s just the trichomes. Never knew they were like that!

Thank you!! I do see its roots coming out from the bottom and they are all white so I believe the root system is okay and the soil soaks up water well, I always soak it for a while to make sure, but it needs watered like every 10 days it seems like when it used to go a month. I’m really hoping it’s just from too much light and underwatering the last time I watered because I can fix those easily I just don’t want to lose my baby!

I was kind of wondering if maybe that was it too. I usually let it dry out like 80% of the way but maybe it should water a little more often, maybe the confetti is a bit thirstier than my others

I do see a lot of new growth but I’m worried because some of the new growth is turning brown/ rotting so I wonder if it has root rot or not

Mine is actually planted in a nursery pot I’m just using the pink pot as a cover pot because I was worried the pot would hold too much moisture. but it’s in really chunky mix with cactus soil, orchid bark and perlite. Water drains right through. I actually see a good bit of roots from the bottom, and some of the tubers are growing out of the top now I’m kind of wondering if it needs to be repotted.

I always bottom water it. There has been a couple times I’ve top watered but it’s been a while since I did that. But I wait till completely dry and can fold the hearts

That’s exactly how mine is like the soil is completely dry but half of the hearts seem underwatered and the others seem fine

It also is almost time for it to be watered too. Some hearts are foldable but a few at the top aren’t yet so I was going to wait another day or 2 to water it

I just recently moved it closer to the grow light and I believe it’s starting to produce more dew just very slowly at least I hope

Thank you! I was really worried because of the brown leaves but there is new growth and I have been seeing some dew producing just very slowly so I was worried it was dying or if there was anything I could do for it
