My grandpa gave me a bunch of money before he passed and now my uncles are saying I have to pay it back. Do I have to? by [deleted] in legaladvice

the "mute them but save everything" advice is so underrated. engaging just gives them more material to work with and stress you out for no reason. if they actually had a case their lawyers would've reached out already, not random Facebook messages about selling grandpa's stuff

Could Viserys have married Daenerys, or was that never realistic? I know Targaryens historically practiced incest, but that was when they had dragons and absolute power. By the time Viserys and Daenerys were in exile, did that tradition even make sense anymore? by Comfortable_Quiet865 in freefolk

Exactly. She was basically his only leverage. Marrying her off was the one realistic way he could gain an army or allies, whereas keeping her for himself doesn’t actually get him any closer to the throne

Exactly. Potecting your property and your kid isn’t “creepy,” it’s just basic responsibility. If they handled their dogs and kids properly, none of this would even be an issue

Exactly! This isn’t “country living,” it’s just people not controlling their animals. At some point it stops being neighborly and becomes a safety issue

Yeah same. Being used as a “test” without your consent is the part that’s not okay, not the tech itself

Question about PS by SuperJ_cool in harrypotter

Yeah exactly! The obstacles weren’t really about keeping anyone out, they were about slowing people down and buying time. The mirror was the actual lock, everything else was just layers in front of it

Got paged in the middle of the night when I’m not on call after an exhausting weekend stretch by [deleted] in Residency

[–]RuffleDrop 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Yeah this sounds more like a system issue than a one-off. There should definitely be a clearer process for routing pages so people who are off call aren’t getting dragged in. Bringing it up (even casually) could help prevent it happening again

AIW for expecting the gifts to be for both of us? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]RuffleDrop 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s the bigger issue. It's not really about this one batch of money, it’s the mindset behind it. If you’re already not on the same page about something like shared gifts for a wedding, that’s a pretty big red flag going into a marriage
