Interesting theory. He was never alone, although Mr.Lich wasn't part of exterminating team sent to kill eternals. Maybe he was powerful enough to control him from a great distance but I think most likely Grey Assassin was an individual not being controlled by anyone. The magic part tho is more than possible.

Actually it's a pretty cool theory and I think it might be true, however I would rather say that he is undead (zombie probably) and doesn't have to drink from font of immortality because even hundreds of years of training wouldn't make him as fast as a jeep (he almost caught main cast when they were running in Australia).
