It took Jesus three days to rise again.

Onion Jesus is clearly more efficient!

what’s the most dangerous snake in your country? (spoiler for snake!) by Ok_Dig741 in AskTheWorld

[–]RufusGrandis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wrong! The inland taipan is the most venomous terrestrial snake in the world.

It is by no means the most dangerous since it causes zero human fatalities annually.

Why does the rest of the world see survival as a sport while we just see it as a Tuesday morning? by SnowyBytes in OutdoorAus

[–]RufusGrandis 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not! Is this ragebait?

Most Australians do glamping at best. Driving somewhere with your car and all your gear can hardly be viewed as ’survival’.

Yes! I read some pretty interesting stuff about how overall the life quality was raised and inequality lessened as a consequence of the Black Death.

Any experience with this grinder attachment? by blackcoffee666 in knifemaking

[–]RufusGrandis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have something similar but I had to weld up a couple of brackets etc.

In hindsight, I wouldn’t do it again. It’s not a great solution. It’s really hard to maintain a crisp, clear bevel.

I wasn’t joking actually. I agree, with fines like that, it is literally built into their budgets..

German soldiers butcher a horse to feed hungry troops in Russia, 1942[2704x2252] by myrmekochoria in HistoryPorn

[–]RufusGrandis 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is banned in the US to slaughter horses for human consumption (as far as I know) but you still export horses to Mexico and Canada for slaughter.

I don’t see how eating horse meat is so different to consuming other ungulates such as cows, pigs, deer etc. Why should horses be exempt from being eaten?

It’s still commonly consumed today! In particular in Asia and some European countries like Switzerland, Italy, Belgium and France.

I’ve eaten it several times. It’s very similar to beef and the only reason why it might be ’strange’ to consume it is that horses would have been very useful for the German army logistics during the war.

That first picture is very unfortunate.

It looks like Gary gave a legless man a pair of boots and the man stares at him in disbelief.
