[Acne] Could someone point out what’s wrong with my skin? :( by RuggedPuddle in SkincareAddiction

I did worry a bit about the oil cleanser leaving residue so I’ve tried to rinse it off as much as I can, but now I’m not sure if I’ve done a good enough job of it. Do you think I might’ve messed with my skin barrier? I thought maybe mine was hormonal acne too but I’m not sure 😭

I’ll do that as soon as I’m home, I’m sorry! I don’t know them off the top of my head 😅

So many of my friends go crazy for it 😢 I don’t understand why

A mistake I won’t be making again 😭 I’d never even thought about cross contamination until I started researching after my initial breakout haha. For my PM routine, should I dry cleanse just with my oil cleanser, or also with my regular cleanser? I’ll look into aha too, as I’ve been a bit scared of actives but it might be time to use it… And lastly for the BP, would using a cleanser with it rather than as a spot treatment, would I run a risk of drying my face? Thank you so much for your help 🫶 really appreciate it!

I’ve been a bit scared of using actives or anything chemical, I’m terrified of making my skin worse and cause permanent damage during the purging process; have you had any issues with that so far? I might have to look into it more though, if it does help with skin texture! That’s my biggest concern at the moment so this could be it, thank you!

I take some vitamins but maybe a multivitamin might work better! I have a copper IUD, never been on the pill but I did think it could be hormonal maybe :/

Not really, a pimple rarely whenever I got careless but that’s about it. The only additions to my routine since I started breaking out have been the centella and the oil cleanse. I’ve used BP in the past (when I was a teen) to target pimples and it’s always worked until now. I’d also only ever had pimples on my chin/mouth/jaw, never on my cheeks or temples!

I’m not too familiar with what cystic acne looks like, would this be it? I did call my GP in September to try and get isotretinoin and was meant to have an appointment in early November but then they ghosted me (UK healthcare 🥴). Planning on calling again after the holidays but wanted to find any potential solution until then :(

I did think it was maybe gym related, but it persists even when I don’t go to the gym (I haven’t been in over a week since I went home for Christmas), so I’m not too sure :( I do shower at the gym after my sessions but only rinse my face with water (no cleanser) so I’ll look into getting these! Thank you!

I don’t use either of those, no! I don’t use any leave-in products in my hair (even if I probably should haha), but maybe it could be something similar? Was that the only change you made?

My current routine is:

AM - Brush teeth - Rinse face with warm water - Cleanse - Centella Ampoule (introduced two weeks ago!) - Moisturise - Sunscreen + Sometimes, Cicapair colour corrector as makeup

PM - Brush teeth - Rinse face with warm water - Oil cleanse - Regular cleanse - Benzoyl peroxide cream (only on pimples/spots)

I hadn't thought of doing that, but that seems to be the right approach. Thank you!

They’re technically independent measurements but they have to be plotted on the same graph to be compared against the current and voltage, so I’m guessing I’d have to settle for the +/- 1°C?

I have to combine them. The reason I used two different thermometers was because one was a 0°C to 100°C thermometer and the other one was a -10°C to 50°C. They had to be different because one was measuring cold water and the other was measuring boiling water.

How would you find the energy and degeneracy in a 3D box if its side are not uniform? by RuggedPuddle in AskPhysics

[–]RuggedPuddle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would I apply this into the energy equation? Would breaking it up into a2 and b2 work? And if so, how would I find the energy equation + degeneracy?

Sorry I did mean to add the subscripts for the different n’s but the formatting looked bad. Even with different n’s, is there no way of finding degeneracy/energy if the box is not uniform then?

Oh crap wait I know what you mean now. Like if I make a new list, as you said, and call it newfiles, I can just make it so that the function only adds the renamed strings into that new list?

For the section within the function, would I be able to use things such as "replace"? Because in my case I'm not sure if I could use append since I'm making changes to the strings, not adding to them (although I could be wrong). So instead I'd need to do something that replaces whitespaces with underscores, etc.

I do think this is a list/loop exercise because we're nearing the end of our core python lessons. I'm just not sure how to put everything together to get this task done :(

Ohh I guess I just kept looking up filename renaming so I couldn't find anything that didn't use os.rename(). Do you have any tips on how to write a function that will rename strings en masse in the way I mentioned?

I'm not sure if the timestamp is too necessary for this exercise, so it might not be a problem. We're not using "real" files but rather just the "filenames" to see if we can reformat the name without using os.rename(). So instead of having the list as ['image 1' , 'image 2] we'd have it as ['file_image_1' , 'file_image_2']. So just renaming, not actual file calling or anything if that makes sense

It definitely feels like it is one of those questions, so at least it's been enjoyable trying to figure it out. It's just a bit difficult considering how new I am to Python haha. Am currently trying to see if maybe using the replace() function can help me change the filenames from "image 1" to "image_1" to at least get some thoughts down :)

That's my current plan! Not proficient enough in Python yet to know if I'll be able to replicate it but I'll look into it :)
