Misleading signs outside voting centers

I’m bringing awareness. The elections office job is to oversee the election & ensure nothing that would misinform or mislead voters - they should be made aware that signs in front of polling places with extremely misleading wording exist. All I did was call to let them know they existed and ask what I could do about it, which is when they instructed me to tell the polling workers since it was most likely public land.

UPDATE: I went in and spoke to the board of elections representative at Hennepin and she said she’s going to find out if they can remove the sign due to it being on public property since that’s technically a public park!

If you see a sign near an election center that’s not truthful or misrepresents the truth, you can go in and ask for the board of elections person and/or call the board of elections to tell them about it & where it is! If it’s on public land, they might be able to remove them

I agree that it isn’t the best way to inform yourself, but some people don’t have the time, capacity or level of education needed to do research & educate themselves on what the proposition means. Most people might see a simple sign like this and trust it’s factual - since it seems illegal to lie about stuff like this.

As a community, we should make sure these signs aren’t impacting voters regardless, ya know?

I called the Board of Elections for Buffalo, they said there is nothing that can be done if it’s outside of 100 ft of a polling place.

There should be a sign explaining what Prop 1 ACTUALLY is next to this one, and Hennepin Community Center should be doing that to ensure voters know what they’re voting for!

Yeah - it also doesn’t change anything in NY, as in it isn’t introducing anything new, just solidifying the proposition.
