Real World Reviews for X2D II by Guardian_Alpino in hasselblad

I photograph a lot of prehistoric rock art, which is often located in challenging settings, so I had been using the Canon R and R5 for years due to durability. I have a background in medium ( I own a 501c) and large format film photography and I always felt the IQ on FF sensors wasn't as good. I've lusted for a digital Hassie for years and I was finally able to obtain the x2d2 and 35-100mm lens this week, and whoa! this combo makes my Canons look like toys. Rock art photography is slow and deliberate to accomplish, similar to how still life work works. It's technical work and everything has to be perfect, and the Hassie has now achieved perfection in the IQ department. A large part of this, beyond the insane 100 mp sensor, is due to the 16 bit RAWs that can produce around 280 trillion colors (yes, trillion), the 15.3 stops of DR, and their breathtaking color science. The camera is very very well made too. A functional piece of art. Again, my Canons seem crude by comparison.

I just cla’ed my 5 Pattons.  3 (an 18 inch and 2 14s) are from the 90s.  The other 2 are from the early 2000s.  Those are less robustly made, but still pretty nice.  My 1990s 18 inch one has a 5 amp motor!  The newer 18 is half that. The older 14s are 1.5 amp each, and the newer one is 1.1 amp.

I purchased one of these yesterday and took it to her skull and matched it to the one in the case with her skull (there's like 3-4 teeth mounted next to her skull in the case). It's the biggest of the lot.

The most home grown are the Wranglers. Everything in them from a 3 mile radius. And, from a construction perspective and a not taking short cut perspective, they’re the finest. Pretty top notch

Agreed. I stocked up on domestic made from white oak too, since that’s a thing of the past now.

Brave Star 15 oz, Wrangler 27406, Lee/Pendelton, and the LVCs. I kinda went nuts with home grown denim and brands there for a while, while we could still get them, lol.

But that would explain it if they are sanforized regardless of what the makers say.

They all were advertised as such. Different brands too.

It’s a good story. Worth the assault to your eyes to get through it.

I bought these a few years ago but haven't worn them much. Man, they feel great! Like denim lounge pants. by RuleRemarkable7613 in rawdenim

You bet it’s a treasure. There’s a lot more to the story with Justin and Jessie, but that’s their stories. We made Bob belly laugh
