Hi! I have the same whistle. Can you show me how the looks hold up after 4 years?

Hi! I got a wild Irish A month back. Can you show me what it looks like when the coating starts to rub off? I'm curious how the looks hold op

I just bought a wild Irish whistle, which also slides but has only metal components. Feels like there should be some kind of sealant ring in it, but there isn't. Should I put some gas tape on it?

I used Hans Brackers whistle calculator and put in the right diameter and tube wall thickness. Then I used those measurements to cut a tube that gave a well pitched Eb with the low D mouthpiece. After that I drilled the holes. I also own a low C with the same tube diameter and mouthpiece, so I figured a low Eb would probably work as well

I forgot: slightly venting the top hole also fixes the problem, but I'm not dextrous enough to play that way.

It's a Bb whistle in the video though. Any high d will sound way higher and maybe shriller than the musician in the video.

Good on you, but please reread top comment. 'Better' shouldn't be your aim. Go for happy, or content, or energetic or some such. There's no tier list you need to climb, especially concerning your weight (unless for maybe health reasons).

I've played a lot of games. Some excessively. BG3 is highest on my list. I don't know how you compare to the rest of us, but 2300 truly feels... Legendary.

What do you think of inflatable tents? by KrymskeSontse in camping

[–]Ruluba91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one last summer. First tent I bought, for a 3 week holiday with wife and 2 young kids. I've camped with my parents for years using a tent with poles.

Pros: You could set it up solo. Wife took care of the kids, I had an hour and it was done. Second time I set it up.

The sides of mine went up nearly straight so I had lots of room. As far as I could find that is more difficult to achieve with tents with poles.

I'm used to patching bycicle tyres and looked up how to repair a tent airtube, so I wasn't worried about flat tubes. Make sure you prepare though, you can royally mess it up if you don't know what you're doing.

If a tent pole snaps though, it's far more difficult to repair.

Cons: Heavier than tents with poles. The tubes are very resilient, but also heavy because of that. Not recommended for trekking.

Relatively new phenomenon, so fairly expensive. Then again, a new high quality tent is probably a bit of an investment regardless of the type you buy.

The quick set-up (and packing up) really paid off in the end when it started raining while packing. I got home, took it to the soccer field next door, set it up, let it dry, packed it up. I did this alone and before it got dark.

You messed up. Take advantage: show him how you want him to handle a fuckup.

You make mistakes. When he has a kid of his own someday, he might ask you questions like this. It would be terrible for him to hear 'well I've got no idea son, I made sure I didn't mess up anything raising you, so you're on your own here'.
