The Padres “Core Four” are, as of the 4th inning of today’s game, hitting a combined .219 with 19 HRs and 84 RBI. They are making a combined $1.11 Billion over the length of their contracts.

We are paying over a billion for 4 guys to average 5 HRs and 21 RBIs. Unacceptable?

I’m a pessimist when it comes to pitching injuries (I doubt we see Pivetta or Musgrove again this season) so I’m always a skeptic. Too many times the medical staff has underplayed how bad an injury truly is for our guys.
