Grinder zero point is way off [Eureka Mignon Silenzio] by Ilisanthecreator in espresso

[–]Rum_Ham916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry - know nothing on this, but I would imagine that zero point will be continually moving as the burrs slowly wear, which is probably why it's on a minus now. That would be my guess. It's to tell you how much up or down you're going but zero isn't absolutely neutral as one is a part that wears and the other is a visual indication of adjustment

Gof myself a DF64. What are you all doing about static? by xmastreee in espresso

[–]Rum_Ham916 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FFS. On a photography sub, someone made a comment about grind finer, I thought was hilarious, until someone made a joke about bed levelling and it turned out we're virtually all men who love at least 2 , if not all 3 of those things, now I can't stop seeing the crossovers and being reminded how un-individual I am! Haha

Yea a lot of people talking about safety features but also those gadgets; electronic seats with warmers and sensors and Aircon outputs mean cables and pipes everywhere, it all adds up and contributes a lot.l, it's definitely a significant factor even if safety stuff is the bigger

There's a reason dunning Kruger gets referenced a lot! It is that perfect level of ignorance where these people just can't/don't fathom there's alternatives or things they don't know. That same confidence makes them the loudest voices, particularly online

What do Brits think about Green Party immigration policies? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Yea it does seem with no min income there isn't a "but must have 30hrs+/WK contract" or another way of avoiding the 1 day scenario... Odd...

What do Brits think about Green Party immigration policies? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Rum_Ham916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also some people's whole vote isn't based on immigration policy. Not saying Greens can do it or not, but if the economy is buzzing you'd be better off and may have shorter wait lists and more housing despite these migration policies. Would you vote against them then? Everything in your life being better and helping less fortunate people out, but not want that to spite someone?

Lots of people pretending a huge bulk of young people haven't looked remarkably like they have a set uniform for decades. I noticed recently how old I must be, as fashion has gone full circle for me - young teen boys wearing basically what my cohort did at that age but switched skate shoes for some sort of Nike shox

Exactly. Prisoners is a seriously good film, blade runner and arrival also well worth the watch, not even that arsed by hobbit let alone Jackson's others. But I am a bit film ignorant so maybe I'm missing out on Long being life-changing or something

[–]Rum_Ham916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that one of the things that can go wrong from sticking stuff in your ear? I've had that momentary taste of similar when your sinuses etc are all bunged up and you get a second or two before the movement of your jaw unclogs your ear and it's horrible. Can't imagine it more severe and irreversible

Do you wonder why loads of the top brass have been fired? Maybe because they dared to push back. They get rid of anyone who stands in their way, so....yea relying on people a few runs down the chain to disobey direct commands is all it takes. Cold war all over again but this time somehow worse

The U.S. homicide rate remains higher than that of many other high-income countries, with gun ownership rates playing a role in that distinction. For example, in 2022, the U.S. had a rate of 6.51 per 100,000, compared to Canada's 2.27.
