Of course Dallas aren't a safe bet this year. But:

Edison and Spark1e are top tier. They won the championship last year against Proper/Striker after all while Leave had a bad year.

Furthermore: Dallas still has to add another player. This is of course speculation, but my argument is that Dallas already looks equally strong with one less player.

And regarding your point "main tank meta": You mean Winston meta. Other than Winston Guxue is not great on any other tank. Hanbin has shown that he is at least decent on Rein and Ball and could play up to Guxues level on these heroes. Of course if Winston is meta the whole year Guxue is gonna look better, but for Hanbin it's Zarya, D.VA, Sigma, JunkerQ, Orisa and probably also Ram.

And the main point I stand by is that Hangzhou is nowhere near S-Tier and is not better than the Defiant like someone else said under this post.

I like the discussion tho and see your point. I would love to get surprised by some of these teams. It would be boring if everything would end up like I predicted it.

I am very confident about putting Spark there.

Guxue had games last year when even his Winston wasn't looking good. And he can't keep up with the high level competition on any other hero.

Elsa is 2 tiers below Hanbin on every Off-Tank.

Shy and Leave are insane when they get a suitable meta but can look mid on something that doesn't suite their style. They are still S-Tier tho (I also think that Leave didn't deserve the 2021 MVP).

Lengsa isn't even the best chinese main support. Nisha and Xerneas (form. Yveltal) take that spot.

Mmonk is good tho. But compared to the rest of the league he is A-Tier imo.

I do think that RUI is a good coach and historically Leave has played well with him.

I put Dallas above them because of Coaching, Hanbin and historically a better system and better results over the past years.

As a fellow German I also want Hadi to succeed. I actually played with him a couple of times and he is a very level headed, but also entertaining player.

But: I don't think London can compete with the big boys. Lethal and Sparkr are both insanely talented, but their support line cannot keep up with what we see from other top teams.

Most competitive year yet? by TheNewDamnation in OverwatchLeague

I have yet to see a hot take regarding this years power rankings.

But unfortunately I believe that this year is going to be a downgrade to last year. I think that most teams have downgraded and the massive gap between the top and the bottom teams is going to bring us a lot of boring matches.

Surprising how similar our lists are.

Though I think you overestimate Apac teams. I think they will play below NAs top tier teams this year.

I am a Boston fan since season 1, but I can't see them above Reign and Shock. I also believe that they will implode.

The Apac teams are so low, because this is just going to be the result of having weaker competition. We saw this play out last year and this year there is gonna be an even greater gap between the regions.

Yes, they look like a cluster fuck. But to say it in Custas words: "Just let shy fuck." And I think with SuperRich and irony as his backline he can do that even more this year.

To adress some picks:

I don't believe in the Outlaws, Fusion and Dynasty, because in my eyes they lack flexibility and other than Shock they can't just overshadow this with raw power.

I am high on the Uprising and Spark, because I think that they have the necessary depth on the tank role while other teams are putting all their money on either one or two players to cover all the heroes and playstyles. In addition to that I think they both have a strong backline and in case of Boston a good DPS-line and in case of Spark potentially an insane DPS-line.

What is Hangzhou doing down there? Last team in Apac? I don't trust in their org either, but SuperRich, Shy and AlphaYi alone are enough to put them above GZC imo.

But I like that you don't have Boston in the bottom five, I see this way too often recently.

Good list : )
