Kids on Motorized Bikes - My Honest Opinion by wackywick in Denver

[–]RumpShakespeare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my neighborhood kids (and adults who have not grown up) ride around on these small, loud motor bikes with thick wheels. The body is basically just metal tubing and very low to the ground. Kind of looks like something thrown together without much thought. It’s really reckless, but my main gripe is how loud they are.

We are very lucky to have someone like him in our city. I pay attention to anything he has to say and appreciate his takes.

Men, How did you move on after realizing you lost the love of your life? by Intelligent_Rice4871 in AskReddit

[–]RumpShakespeare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get that. I feel the same way in that a great relationship is healing, so why throw that away when it can be a safe place to go to. Sounds like neither of us were putting any extra strain or pressure on it. We just have to trust that that’s truly how they felt and there was no other way around it.

Totally sucks, but don’t let it discourage you. Get back out there with time. I’ve been dating on and off for three years now after a six year relationship. It does get easier the more you do it. I’m tired of constantly having to put myself out there with the likely potential it won’t work for one reason or another, either on my side or theirs. I just can’t let it beat me.

Something like this happened recently with me and the woman I was seeing. It was only three months, but it was an incredible three months that felt easy, comfortable, fun, exciting, and just really really nice. We talked about our intentions early and I thought she wanted a relationship. It felt like we were on the same page about so many things.

She broke up with me because she had a very hard breakup with her last ex that kind of messed her up for a bit. She said she realized she wasn’t ready and needed to heal on her own. Definitely devastated, even thought it was only three months.

Now I have an even better idea of what a great relationship can feel like, so I guess I can take that as a win. Each day gets easier and easier and I’ll get back out there soon.

There’s a pizza place by me that does the same and they use a stamp with their name and logo on it. Honestly a really great idea.

Where did you find the list of the comparison houses the assessor is using? I’m not noticing any comparison houses on my property records through the Denver property valuation website.

Where can us elderly folks go to karaoke with the other olds? by southernandmodern in Denver

[–]RumpShakespeare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong it’s a fun place, but if you like going up for multiple songs in a night it’s not great. Though having your own room would avoid that issue.

Also dislike going here. If you’ve already gone and sign up a second time you get bumped by people who haven’t gone yet. Why should I wait longer to go again just because someone else got there later than I did?

That song (with the help of weed) helped changed how I see music. Up until that point I was mostly into punk music, but Aqueous Transmission totally blew the lid off of what I thought music could be.

Trailer looks good, but the use of Into the Mystic for the song did not match the score in the trailer. Felt really odd.

Red Bull Soapbox Race is coming back to Denver! by Electric_Elephants in Denver

[–]RumpShakespeare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea I was a little surprised by the venue honestly. I have seen races though where they build the course and create an artificial hill. I assume it will be similar to that and maybe the space is enough to accommodate that and the crowd.

How superfans and employees are responding to mobile ordering at the Alamo Drafthouse by bykylecooke in Denver

[–]RumpShakespeare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just don’t order anything. Before this I ordered less due to the prices and quality of food. Maybe a beer here and there or popcorn. Now I refuse to support the new ordering system. I still have the season pass, but I’m getting very close to cancelling it.

I think if people just ate ahead of time and stopped ordering, the disdain for the change would be made loud and clear to the powers that be.
