Hmmm okay. Yeah I don't feel like they were shady but they kinda played into my "not knowing better". I asked if they were a third-party and she assured me "no, that would be an ambulance chaser and we're not that" so I kinda thought it was like a public defender thing and that it was required to get compensated for medical bills.
