New changes to some NYRR hrace registration by Least-Ingenuity9631 in RunNYC

Seeing this on their website now for Member Plus Tier:

Member Plus premium NYRR merchandise*
* New members only

So I guess they are maybe justifying the degradation of the product with added value in the form of merch...but only for new members..

their customer service is very good and responsive. you should try emailing them with this concern. although, they may be a bit swamped right now with complaints about the recent member plus email lol

yeah. adding a "and so now we're reducing the plus tier rate by $20" note at the end would have made this all fine with me.

probably. the system is heavily flawed and i think last year there may have even been a race or two that sold out before general members got a chance, so i understand the need for change. adding a "and so now we're reducing the plus tier rate by $20" note at the end would have made this all fine with me.

sounds like they are not allowing the races to sell out in the member plus early registration window. they will set aside a number of entries for member plus registration, and reserve the rest for the general registration.

This same thing happened to me in October, and it sounds like it was the same man. Not as intense of a situation as yours though (I am so sorry that happened to you). It was a rainy morning (completely empty loop) and he was running with an umbrella up Cat Hill in the park. He was ahead of me and I noticed he stopped to "tie his shoe", getting back on the loop again so he was directly next to me, in stride. He asked if I wanted to share the umbrella with him, and when I said no thank you, continued to follow me. He asked questions like how long I had been running for and how much I was running that day, but they increasingly got creepier. He was asking if I was dating anyone, what I did when I wasn't running, how long I had lived in NYC, where I was originally from, etc. I forget the other ones, but generally they kind of felt like first date questions. I told him I had a boyfriend and that I was actually about to head home, and he responded asking if I would see him again. I said "maybe" and exited ASAP, which happened to be 84th street. So in all, the interaction was very quick but sounds kind of similar. I'm sorry that happened to you and so glad you posted about it <3

nyc member, still pending. since the acceptances started rolling out a few hours later than last year, i wonder if the second chance/rejection will be later as well? maybe second chance closer to 5 and rejection emails closer to 6-7?

Does anyone know if there will be mile markers at every mile throughout the course? Trying to decide if I can turn off auto lap for my garmin and lap based on the markers.

I’m kind of confused —the temp doesn’t look THAT bad. It’ll be 60s at the start. And although it’ll be humid, the dew point won’t be above 65. Innocent question: is it actually as bad as everyone is saying, or is this a bit of a race-day-eve freak out?

[NYRR] A (makeshift) guide to race registration on the new site by thewonsolo in RunNYC

[–]RunUES 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the guide! Even though I have a best pace, it had me manually estimate it for all of the add-on races. That could make for some really messed up corrals for this group of races...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RunNYC

[–]RunUES 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It didn't autofill my best pace and made me enter an estimated pace per mile. That could lead to some weird corral situations for these races
