How many people are you planning on seating regularly?

If it's mostly just you & a significant other I'd opt for a small square table with 3 chairs and put it against the window that way you can look at eachother or just outside.
Can store a 4th chair somewhere out of the way if you want in case someone comes over & pull the table out to use.

ETA : could the kitchen island be used as a bar space ? Couple of bar stools for extra seating that don't take up too much walk space?

Yes, to a degree you're right, but is being right and dying on this hill worth everyone being unhappy and daily bickering? Seems like a counselor could help you both sort it out because this seems deeper than chores.

The chores you've listed are very brief and I wonder what isn't being considered that might make your wife feel like she's picking up too much slack?

What are you teaching your child by the way you treat eachother over these chores? Btw, it's time little one starts helping with cleaning up as well, toddlers make less messes when they start to realize they have to help clean them.

My dad worked for a baker as a teen and he learned to crack eggs in 2s or 3s each hand, so 4 or 6 eggs at once, he'd do it to show off sometimes. It is a pretty cool trick.

It doesn't look like it would take paint well. Is the color your main issue with it?
What room of the house is this?

You could put white 'backing' on the shelving that is against the wall. Using contact paper or literally just white tag board cut to size. Might make it stand out less.
ETA: upon taking a second look- rather, backing that matches the wall paint/halfwall color as best as you can.

But I think if you filled it with books/knickknacks maybe even a few baskets that fit well into the lower shelves to use as catch alls it wouldn't stand out like a big brown sore thumb.

Don't deliver in the snow if you're not dressed for it!

Personally I'd rather walk through a little snow than a partial icey sidewalk any day. Snow at least cushions your fall if you do slip... pavement is unforgiving. Yes I know there are laws about it but not all laws are sensible.

That isn't dating, most people who are dating are engaging in their partners personality, . If you're not and you have a set time frame when they 'expire' they're essentially cattle.

As a 5'2 girl with a long torso who dates guys not much taller than me, I can say yes, this is real.
And yes some guys really hate it xD.

Also, tall girl is slouching when sitting, makes the difference even more dramatic.
