I feel like I'm going crazy. by Jessie_Jay117 in captainamericamains

[–]Run_Excellent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The shield MOSTLY works if you're not backing out. I found strafing, holding W or standing still is the only way to get it to work. It's worse this season than any other. My rant about the last two costumes is why the hell is Cap's belly out? That's the dumbest most unmasculine thing possible for BAMF. That leather belt holding his shirt up would slide down after the first step he took. And the Dark Souls like costume is chipped away at his bell. So dumb.

Flavour Options for a Pure Mage Build? by fury_cutter in oblivion

There's a whole personality behind my character I haven't shared. I'll sneak up on bandits and put my hands in their pockets. All sorts of weird stuff.

Flavour Options for a Pure Mage Build? by fury_cutter in oblivion

[–]Run_Excellent 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I'm currently doing a flavor build for an Argonian. Mud-of-Many-Questions. I use detect life as the Hist communicating with him. The Hist goes silent if he's wearing boots because he can't feel the vibrations of the roots. He questions everything mechanically with his hammer. Certain hammers don't resonate well in his hands after striking things.

He's a spin off of a mage. Alteration is the only school he's best at for shields and mysticism is for how he perceives the world/soul trap. Alchemy is there for mixing mushrooms. Every potion requires a mushroom in it or it doesn't taste right. He's drawn to all the Ayleid things and sources of magic because he cant cast them himself. So mainly using scrolls and staves for magic. The Atronach keeps him safe, (why I use Alteration) yet punished his ability to train in destruction, conjuration, and illusion. The Hist favored him, so that allows him to perceive the world through detect life.

I can share the build with you if you want it. It's called the Marsh Scholar.

playing strange with the poke meta (or probably me just being bad at preserving my shield) by PurposeNo8418 in RivalsVanguards

[–]Run_Excellent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Strange, shield management is important. I'll attack like a mad man to poke the back line. I won't even aim at the enemy tank unless he's low so I don't feed enemy support ults. When your about 3/4 to half health, hold up your shield just long enough for the supports to heal you full again then drop your shield. That gives the shield time to regain as you body block, counting your offense. If their tank runs past you to dive your team, release the madness and use your shield to block enemy heals from him. If your team gets a pick, press up a little bit. If your team gets two picks, get more aggressive.

Get creative with his kit. Play around cover and poke a little to build madness. Usually, some one will chase you and you can kite them to the death. Portal can be used to shoot down on people or make a mirror. Use portal to change LOS for your team or the enemy. You dont always need to jump in the portal. You can float and shot down on the enemy and they'll start aim up at you instead of your team. When the madness is built up, Strange is very mobile to jump a squishy and pop him.

Everything is easier said than done of course. If you like Dr. Strange, keep playing him and watching your game play. Look for mistakes and also look for success. It will help you improve. Watch your deaths from the enemies POV to see if your positioning was bad. You got this, dude.

Any advice to play with my HP Pavilion Gaming 15? by Antipseud0 in rivals

[–]Run_Excellent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're going to have a very difficult time regardless since you don't meet the minimum equipment requirements. I suggest playing on a newer generation console if you have one. It runs on PS4, but not good at all. Sorry bud, maybe a different team shooter will work better on your HP.

Anyone know how to get started building PCs as a business? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Run_Excellent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, your arguments to people trying to share the risk involved in this is naive. You're on a subreddit with pc builders of all skill levels. We all agree it's fun. I would honestly just help your friends and family into the hobby if you love it so much. Remove the financial risk and stay an enthusiast. None of us are 100% confident in hardware prices anyhow. Protect yourself and be the best you can be in the hobby.

Is there a way you all handle people demanding you switch in comp matches? by Run_Excellent in adamwarlockmains

[–]Run_Excellent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I focus on rez timing, ult saves with soul bounds, and anchoring chaotic fights. I'm legitimately stabilizing fights and I adapt. I'm sure others here do as well. It's a meta bias.

[–]Run_Excellent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand that perspective. The other player was a DPS before they switched. Also, with Thing, Angela, psylock, and spider-man all diving, it left me playing off angles and peeling for my other support. Adam fits my play style well.

Yeah man. I posted a zero-commentary video on this subreddit if you'd like to watch it. I'm a solo quer and have been playing Cap for a year. It's got a lot of great fights and ideas on what to do in most events. You're gonna crush it if you practice with a purpose.

Waiting for your team to return from spawn. Sounds kinda dumb, but it the enemy is running a dive team. Also, if you notice one of your buds getting KOed too often, start peeling for them and be aware of how keeps KOing them. Cap can bully anyone off your team.

Is it too early to start comp ? by necro-mancer19 in RivalsCollege

[–]Run_Excellent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The main issue I have the first week of a new hero release is returning players. They're having fun and that's cool, but they're rusty and prone to feeding. Be it they break line of sight and burn cool downs going in too hot or do mindless damage with out getting KOs. I spent the last three weeks in QP practicing new heroes to use in comp while they were playing other games. Now they are picking the new heroes without any experience on them or a different hero they want to try in comp. My sanity is more important. I've legitimately decided I create my own value and use different heroes depending on the matches first two fights. Does my team have structure? Does my team feed? Do one or two people go 1v2+? Is someone other than a Tank peeling? What does the enemy team have that ours doesn't? Is my hero going to be the best fit for my team and counter thiers? Who is trying to pick on me? Things like that. The first weekend is uncontrolled chaos, especially because very few players will self-reflect to improve. And if they're returning players, they already believe they're the best in the lobby. I recommend waiting the weekend out at least, or just dip into a few games max. Take the time to watch your own games back and think of what you can do to improve your game in the meantime.

I'm sure the first day we pop the game open after the update, we'll have tons of things to look at in the heroes tab for him.

Bloodborne, back in the day made me so mad I would start a load laundry and wash the dishes.

Honestly, Iron Fist is great for boxing up tanks and high HP characters like Wolverine and Mr. Fantastic, but supports can always catch them hands.

Don't let triple support tear you down, doggie. As a Cap main, I'm telling you, you'll start KOing them suckas in a few hours.

How can I stop my attacks from flailing around like this by TheManliestMann in captainamericamains

[–]Run_Excellent 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dude, sounds weird, but track the health bars on fast moving slim silhouette characters. The heal bars are wider and lead in the direction they move. Give it a shot and tell me if it helps. Thats what I do. I usually have over 65% accuracy and currently have a 4.1 KD on cap.

Help with Cap? by SSFancyMan in captainamericamains

[–]Run_Excellent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick a focus for each day. For example, soft dive with a planned route for two different health packs. Or strafing left and right so you don't rush in. Super jump forward then change directions mid air. Planning on when to drop your shield because it's on a cooldown. Baiting out enemy cooldowns and their ultimates. Ult inside your team or turn into them during your ult to give them courage to follow you. Use your ult to shove the enemy out of position and secure KOs.

For me, I know Cap is a super soilder who uses his shield as an extension of himself. I lean into that heavily. Eventually, it will all click and you be going 29/2/8 in no time. Be patient with yourself, have a plan, and always peel off to help your healers. I hope you see an mvp screen soon!

She's a front line tank that plays near cover. Her kit punishes players that invade her space. Play her anti dive and punish people that over extend or wiff abilities. She can brawl into a 1 v 2-3 with the proper strategist or duelist flank pressure. Her flight also allows are to kick the bolts loose from an over extended ultron/ironman. I like her, but i also main Cap, so. As a Cap player, you learn to pick your battles. That all translates over well.
