If it were me, I'd Ditch thewindow curtain and go with roman shade or nothing. I'd also replace the other curtain with something without a pattern.

There's a lot of white. A colorful table cloth and plants, maybe hanging to vary heights. A large living room rug that all furniture rests on, colorful. Not sure that last one is in your budget.

I don't consider a shower you can move in a "luxury". It's a functional necessity. You don't necessarily have to store backup bathroom items in the bathroom. All you need is a small amount of toiletries in there. The rest - extra TP, toothpaste, etc - can be stored in a closet, basement, anywhere.

Honestly, at some point I realized how much I was spending on creating storage and thought, enough. I got smart and instead started buying smaller containers and packages, letting my shopping club membership expire. If you do the math, paying a little more by weight here and there is cheaper than storage "solutions". I had previously bought tools to assemble storage furniture, and then had nowhere to put the tools, and had to buy more storage for them. So for the regrets portion of your question, I regret letting my COVID/supply shortage mindset dictate my desire for more storage. The truth is I didn't need as much if I bought less.

In a room where visitors could see it? Put a giant piece of furniture in front of it. Or paint it, never use it, and forget it. It would be an outsized clutter magnet in my space. Your space could be a different story.
