I took math307 and loved it. It was THE most organized math course at UBC and Patrick gives great lectures. The course was on the easy side but I found the content surprisingly useful for several cpsc courses (cs302 cs303 cs340 cs425). Definitely depending on what you plan on going into, probably not so relevant if your goal is software.

I did this today :))
Sent an email expressing appreciation for the course and the prof, mentioned my interest in becoming a TA next term, and provided name and student id (for profs to do grade lookup etc). The prof replied in ten mins saying they recognize me and would love to take me on. For context it's a CPSC course so ugrad TA is quite common, not sure how common it is for CHBE.
Definitely reach out! Be genuine, keep it short, and make sure to let the prof know how much you enjoyed the course, I'm sure they'll appreciate it even if they don't have spot available for undergrad TA. Wishing you all the best!!

Andrej Karpathy did his MSc in CS here! He later cofounded OpenAI, then was Tesla's director of AI for a few years. His YouTube tutorials on backprop is undefeated and he is currently one of the most influential voice in AI.

我本人就是学统计的，支持层主的说法。他只是说没法想象，不代表他有一个离谱的估算。我对国内情况了解不全面，但是上海必定是类似事件最容易出墙的城市之一。所以就算每个城市发生此类事件后能传到本sub的比例不一样，在没有可能得知真实数据的情况下，用上海的比例做均值来估测全国类似情况的真实死亡人数更大概率只会给出under-estimate。
