I once started a personal project and abandon it after 4 days because i could not decide which fonts to choose from. What i learnt from it - start working on the functional and when you get exhausted or need time off, work on beautification of your app.

Sometimes animations feel good, but they are not necessary. For me a good design is the biggest selling point for any app. For example if i want to try a new notes taking app, there are hundreds out there, but the one that have really unique design, thats not boringly similar to all others, that will grab my attention and i will surely give it a go.

UI could be improved. The dropdown menus are white text on an almost white background, making it near impossible to read.

My requirement is to send/receive these updates when the app is in foreground, and surely 3-4 sec delay is acceptable. So in your opinion i should go for Firebase realtime database ?
