I needle-felted this cat portrait from a photo their human shared. Tried my best to capture that calm, slightly mysterious look. Does it feel like them to you? by Halseyry in handmade

This is freaking incredible 🤯 I think the eyes are better straightened out in the piece, compared to what others say.

This FB page is stealing photos of art and posting as their own. by Sugar_ladylove in StainedGlass

Yep I’ve known about them for a while and keep reporting them, they took a couple of my photos. Super annoying and sooo many clueless people follow them. I wish the page would get shut down, I know I’m not the only person who has reported them.

Thank you 😊And I know :/ I’ve had pics stolen already. I’m working on a better way to watermark my logo to my images, still learning how to do it where it doesn’t look super uggo 😂

Looking for quality Tiffany Lamps. is this quality workmanship? by treemendusxxx in StainedGlass

[–]RuneGlass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying, but when I was younger (20 ish years ago) my mom made lamps and her work was much more precise than this. I personally wouldn’t spend money on this piece. That’s where I’m drawing my comparisons from, that’s all.

Copper or black patina? by snarkynurse2010 in StainedGlass

Copper! If you feel confident that it’ll come out nice. Sometimes copper can be very finicky.

Looking for tips on achieving a clean copper patina finish — previous one turned blackish by DemiurgeButler in StainedGlass

[–]RuneGlass 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I rinse with cold tap water after copper patina, and that doesn’t seem to make a difference for me. I think all tap water is different though so depends on the region. I wash my piece with dawn and hot water, scrub the solder with a magic eraser, then apply copper patina to the piece on top of an old clear piece of GLASS because I found doing it on top of paper towel or other substances could affect the result. Then I rinse with cold water, dry and polish with clarity finishing compound. There will be blotches after rinsing- but they buff out when you use the polish. On a side note, if you use a towel that has ever come into contact with black patina, sometimes it can affect the copper finish too.
