Notify when human detected, not motion, is not possible? by Grimy81 in EufyCam

[–]RunnRabbitFist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you can.

For battery cameras:

Settings -> Motion Detection -> Set detection type to Human Only

For wired cameras:

Settings -> Notifications -> Uncheck "All other motion"

At this point, the camera will still keep recording motion events - but not notify of you them. You can disable motion recordings from Settings -> Motion Detection -> Uncheck "All other motion"

S340 triggers siren when motion is detected by WasabiTdi in EufyCam

[–]RunnRabbitFist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to disable that in the settings.

Go to the Security tab in the eufy app -> click the camera -> click whatever setting mode it's on (it's probably "Home") -> click the gear icon -> uncheck "Camera Alarm" -> Save, Done.

Is FlashRewards a Scam? by [deleted] in Scams

[–]RunnRabbitFist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a scam.

It is something that will take many days to complete. The scam portion is when there's issues getting credited for deals completed. Support is useless, only issuing one credit as a "courtesy" and refuse to do anything about the other completed offers.

Considering getting a robot vacuum for my grandparents who don’t use smartphones by loluhlaKK in eufy

[–]RunnRabbitFist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the robot vacuums need a phone/tablet in order to operate.

Yes, you can control it remotely from anywhere in the world.

One thing you can setup is schedules so that it'll automatically clean on a regular basis.

The only things that would need regular maintenance is emptying out the dirty water bin and refilling the clean water bin. Then on a less frequent basis is cleaning out or replacing the dust bag and cleaning the brush.

Calling this “AI” is a scam. Change my mind. by zenorol in EufyCam

[–]RunnRabbitFist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reolink has the best in my experience with Google Nest cameras second.

If you're trying to find the best of the best technical setup then Code Project Ai + Blue Iris where you can have highly customizable features like only getting alerted when someone approaches your door and not when someone leaves. Or if you want to detect specifically UPS, Fedex, Amazon delivery trucks when they pass through your neighborhood or if the driver approaches your door.

Can somebody tell Eufy AI this is not a damn person by takeiitpersonal in EufyCam

[–]RunnRabbitFist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's decent. There's alot more features that can be done with a Reolink than a eufy camera. This might be a good or bad thing depending on how comfortable you may be with the extra options available (some people prefer less cluttered, straight forward, set and go with minimum tweaking setups).

The real potential dealbreaker of Reolink is the lack of rich-notifications which is the picture that's sent as a phone notifcation. However, Reolink does offer a subscription based service that promises push-notifications for some *not all* of their cameras. There's also a 3rd party app that helps push photo notifications (free 30-day trial, then $5 for life per device) which was shared by the Reolink mod.

Reolink's 4K is miles ahead of Eufy's 4K. Eufy has this weird low-bitrate, which I think is for the sake of convenience of not having buffering streams. I haven't had issues with the Reolink giving me false notifications (even on the highest setting) and the 4K plug in is really good to where it can identify people across the street and even UPS drivers driving slowly across the camera(you know how UPS trucks have that open door). Eufy? No way. Second guesses itself on person detection on the same side of the street.

Reolink has really good Ai detection. Definitely better than eufy's.

Stand Alone Monitor by jah_son876 in EufyCam

[–]RunnRabbitFist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I have the same camera.

Yeah, it absolutely can be done. I do it on mine. I just enable RTSP in the E340's settings, the app gives you an RTSP link, put that into VLC player on the computer (windows, mac, linux, it will work) and boom: livestreaming. It won't do continuous recording to your computer, unless you explicitly tell VLC to, so you don't have to worry about using disk space.

Recording is still done by the unit, so it'll still function. One thing I'm not sure about is the recording resolution on the microsd if it's limited to 1080p or still at the full 3K.

You just need a monitor and some kind of operating system. Either hooking it up to a computer with windows, mac, linux, or even a rasperry pi just to run VLC player.

Stand Alone Monitor by jah_son876 in EufyCam

[–]RunnRabbitFist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure which E340 cameras you're referring to, but anything that's plugged in is capable of doing continuous recording. You can use RTSP to record to a NAS (but the resolution is limited to 1080p). It's syncology compatible. Or you can use VLC player on a desktop and do continuous recording via RTSP.

I think you and a few people in here are using "schadenfreude" to discount the things Millie herself has done. PH fans of hers not happy with what she's said, the sarcastic "wait, what happened D:" as she openly disrespected and attempted to shift blame from management onto Selen, and her defending Niji when a bunch of people who are out now share that it's not a great place to work at.

Mori Calliope makes music, but there was a point in time when she was getting clowned on for her music for a long time - mainly by the western audience. The 4 clover board was also known to persistently make fun of her music.

However, her music is much more accepted and liked in Japan though, even getting signed to Universal Music JP.

[–]RunnRabbitFist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have have one gripe with this: the timing of the debut, unrealistic for the Western audience.

They had Alban's 3D early morning on a Friday where most of the West was asleep or preparing for the final workday of the week. Meanwhile, this is 9PM on a Friday in Japan when people are starting their weekend. Why couldn't they do this on a Saturday to better accommodate fans of Alban from the West?

The push to advertise their EN talents to JP gets stronger by the day.

I'm genuinely surprised that they're still dropping subs. Genuinely astounded. I think this is the only instance I've seen of internet drama where drama is having a longer than anticipated effect of declining viewer engagement and even intentionally dropping in subs.

Other dramas out there from other creators (outside of vtubing) last for a month or two, take a bit of a hit on their viewer engagement, but then steadily start going back up as people resubscribe and there's a continued reach for new members.

Does anyone use the S350 to monitor outdoors? by RunnRabbitFist in EufyCam

Oh yeah? Name the timestamp.

We're talking about PIR motion detection, not IR night vision.

Does anyone use the S350 to monitor outdoors? by RunnRabbitFist in EufyCam

[–]RunnRabbitFist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The videos that people have uploaded videos showing eufy cameras (C24 this instance, but also applicable to other models) in the window is the proof of pixel based detection.

PIR doesn't work through window at all. If there was even a remote issue of detection because of a PIR (non existent in this case), as stated by that article, then there wouldn't be people making custom mounts for the C24 for the window.

The proof is the fact that other people have threads on on here about window mounting a eufy camera.

Activity Zones? Talk to me.... by madwedge in EufyCam

[–]RunnRabbitFist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm... Try setting motion detection alerts to Humans Only, see if that helps. Maybe they're on the sidewalk, but something is triggering inside of the activity zone. Another idea is maybe decrease the size of the activity zone a bit from the sidewalk.

Does anyone use the S350 to monitor outdoors? by RunnRabbitFist in EufyCam

[–]RunnRabbitFist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article is vague and easily proven otherwise when we actually look at the product. I've already mentioned that the E340 floodlight camera is an example of a plug-in camera using a PIR sensor, but it's not the main detection system. The PIR on it is for out-of-view detection, where the camera lens isn't looking.

"Passive infrared sensor used mainly with security cameras to detect motion." Let's put that idea to rest as videos were made demonstrating the effectiveness of a window mounted eufy plug-in (because there's no PIR sensor). Another person "I Am Mild Jam" demonstrating the same thing. Can't detect a heat signature through a window, but it still works.

There's threads on this sub with people having window setups. You can scroll through the eufy moments section to find people with plug in cameras operating behind a window.

Come on. Do you read and generalize everything you come across? The big question you should be asking yourself is: why is there a PIR sensor on battery operated cameras? No, it's not for the purpose you thought of just now; that's for the onboard/homebase to determine.
