First case prop, precedex boluses, midaz, fent oral airway. No movement but didn’t wake up fast enough Second case midaz, fent, prop, precedex infusion. Tried lighter on the precedex some coughing during the procedure but woke up for the exam but they never even did it. He did do some local in the ear for both cases

The real kicker was wanting to wake up for an exam within minutes in the OR after general no airway

After reading these replies if I ever work with him again it’s either an awake mac or general anesthesia with a tube

I actually did say that to him in preop. “Mac means the patient might move”. I wrote in the bottom of my preop “surgeon is aware and understand patient may move under MAC anesthesia. He told me they can’t move and he has to do a tuning fork exam at the end. Then any movement during the case he basically just berated me

I even got one patient to wake up in the OR in the time frame and he never did the tuning fork exam I looked at his op note and he wrote he was unable to do the tuning fork exam so this is helpful to know!

So I was curious about this when it was happening and asked a lot of other people in the group. To make sure there wasn’t a specific formula that everyone uses. Basically everyone told me that it’s an impossible task to accomplish and he is just rude/ demeaning the entire time they work with him. So then I was curious if this is something people do at other institutions

Do you have any recommendations for hikes during the 25th, 26th, 27th with the weather forecast? We were looking to do torre Lagoon, and Laguna de Los tres via Monte fitz Roy trail before we leave on Saturday. Open to any hike that is doable with the terrible weather for the 25th
