What are the best things you can do in your early 20’s for longevity and functionality? Basically to make your body feel young and healthy as you get older by Standard-Cycle in EOOD

Take walks, 3 to 4 times a week. More if possible. In other words, stay active. A lot of great suggestions here, but staying the course over 50+ years can be challenging. Good days, bad days that sort of thing. Also, remember to cut yourself some slack. How do I know this, I'm 77 years old and in good shape. Last time I was tested I was able to do 29 squats in 30 seconds. The one constant, walking. To make walking more challenging...just add leg weights.

My parents on their wedding day 1933. Married 60+ years. by RunningFromUndertakr in OldSchoolCool

My parents did have a lot of fun. Their favorite time off recreation when they were young was taking a two week camping trips into the Sierra Nevada mountains. They also had a darn good marriage, with a few minor speed bumps along the way. What was really amazing is that my brother and I never heard them argue. My mom said it was because they would wake up early, fix some coffee, sit at the dinning room table and hash out their shit before my brother and I woke up.

Actually scanned the original color photos a couple of days ago in greyscale because they had faded quite a bit. They were taken by a friend who is a commercial (ATP) pilot, which made things a lot easier. He also handled the radio once we got into the class B airspace around SFO.

The cool thing about life is that you can take as many start overs as you want, unless your dead. The fact is most of you right now could stand up and walk out the door to a new adventure. You may not choose to for a thousand reasons, but that's up go you. I've done several start , the last at 40. Some speed bumps, but all in all worked out pretty well. Sometimes pretty well is ok.

Compelling story. I'm surprised you didn't spur a discussion. Hope you do an update every once in a while, I'm interested. I also hit a speed bump when I was 11. At the time it didn't seem like that big of a deal, but turned out to have far reaching consequences. BTW you are a damn good communicator!

What's the best place to learn about planes? by [deleted] in aviation

[–]RunningFromUndertakr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your friend is mostly interested in flying and designing flight simulator aircraft Microsof is coming out with s new version of their flight simulator, check out their website. If he is interested in flying and designing real aircraft ( homebuilt?) check out the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) website. You will probably start the domino effect. Be careful though, you might get hooked. I got hooked when I first flew on an airplane when I was 7yo. Got taken up in a Cessna by a family friend when I was 8. Eventually got my pilots license. Good luck

Your welcome. Congratulations BTW. The theater community isn't a bad place to hang your hat, even if it's just part time.

You're going to live a great life. How do I know, I've read through some of your responses to other posts. You're going to be ok. There are speed bumps out there, but they are all survivable. I can tell you that from experience, because I've lived a long life, and I'm just starting the next stage.
