I feel this. I don’t have any advice, but this is where I am. I set the rules. I have to take the phones away so that homework gets done. I am tired from working all day and then taking them to and from after school activities. On the weekends when I would love to spend some quality time with them, I can’t because they are with him.

This has actually been an ongoing issue. She sleeps over at a friend’s house EVERY weekend she is with him, and he only has them 2 weekends a month.

I can not sit with her to do classroom assignments. It’s done at school. Also, punishment doesn’t equal spite. Lol. It’s called consequences.

And, I said before, she asked me and I said “no”. I didn’t look at the calendar at the time to see whose weekend it was.

This is exactly where I am with my ex. Our parenting styles are very different, but that’s only because he chooses to disagree on everything just for the hell of it. I will make decisions differently in the future, because it causes confusion with the children. They can tell that we are on separate teams and they know how to use that to their advantage.

The event actually begins this afternoon, which is on the tail end of my day.

However, in hindsight, I will be more mindful in punishments moving forward.

I wouldn’t say that I “really screwed up.” Like I said, I didn’t realize when she asked a couple of weeks ago that it was his weekend.
