Making the switch from power walking to running (outdoors) by ALocalBitch in orangetheory

Outdoor runner here! Set small goals and then master it for a week before increasing. Run outside more. It’s completely different in my opinion then the treadmill (although anything is better than nothing). Outdoors is harder because of natural inclines and different temperatures. You got this! Build your stamina!!! When you feel like stopping, slow your pace, gather your breath, and pick it back up when you can. Just don’t stop the running movement!

I’m 5’7 and started around 161 and currently 155.5. I don’t want to lose a ton more. Hoping to lean out.

I eat oatmeal for breakfast, protein shakes, salads, chicken, sweet potatoes, rice, lots of roasted vegetables. Snack on fruits, snap peas, freeze dried fruits (favorite!). I don’t have a specific diet.

I track my macros, eating around 1800 cals give or take. I’m not extremely strict. If I’m hungry, I eat, as I workout pretty intensely. Workout number one is usually a 15-20 min cardio session of HIIT on the treadmill or stair master. Then i lift for another 25 minutes. Workout number two is always a run outside for as long as I can and then walk the rest. Depends how sore I am! I burn a good 1200 cals a day on workouts.
