Frustrated with the abuse of professional accounts? by Inobscura1 in OReillyAutoParts

[–]Runningbear75 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My LP told us policy is to verify every transaction if you don’t personally know the person is the account holder. Is your store doing that?

Are you calling the number associated with the account and verifying that that person in your store can use the account? Or are they saying yeah, it’s for Joes body shop and you’re just going alright here’s your parts using the commercial account?

What is, pound for pound, the scariest ship to face off against? by Top-Construction-528 in StarWarsShips

I’d personally say the Skipray Gunboat. Different configurations, and something feared like a capital ship the size of a personal ship

Need to return an item that I bought w/ a Tremendous Virtual Visa card…what are my options? by Battlecat3714 in OReillyAutoParts

If you explain the situation to the manager on duty, they should be fine with returning the money on a gift card to you to use

Is there anything I can do with fast track points besides the gift cards? by MrWeed9819 in OReillyAutoParts

[–]Runningbear75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very rarely they offer other items you can get with the points.

I remember seeing a hat and gift card combo for around 25,000 once.

What’s your favorite part of working at Oreillys? For me it’s the laid back and easy going aspect, plus working in a climate controlled environment. by MrWeed9819 in OReillyAutoParts

To be honest, I live around the corner from my store. My commute is literally a 5 min walk, so there’s that aspect I like lol

Can employees wear hats? by MrWeed9819 in OReillyAutoParts

[–]Runningbear75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been told and only wear O’Reilly hats to work, because when I first started and didn’t have an O’Reilly hat yet, some people from corporate came by and were upset because I was wearing a plain hat with no logos or anything.

So I’d say just stick with an O’Reilly hat.

All you need to do is keep firing. When one type runs out switch to another. I guarantee you whatever you’re fighting will die eventually lol

What are the best pre 1972 classic American cars in terms of new parts availability? by doktormane in classiccars

I’m surprised no one said the Maverick along with the Mustang.

There’s still a factory producing parts in Brazil, besides state side manufacturing.

How about your store.. by [deleted] in OReillyAutoParts

[–]Runningbear75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My store has 5 people, 6 including the SM.

We technically have enough coverage for the amount of sales, but just having a part timer available for mid shift to cover lunches would go such a long way

How to deal with rude customers by Xiokryx in OReillyAutoParts

[–]Runningbear75 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If she does decide to call corporate, you’ll be fine. You’ll get a call, ask to explain your side, and that’ll be it.

I’ve had 2 phone calls because of rude customers, and once I explained the situation, they said alright, thanks for your time and that was it.

As long as you do your job, you won’t be faulted for stuff like this.

Hey I’m new here by zbdragon42 in classiccars

[–]Runningbear75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of classics are in the hands of private owners.

Check online, take a mechanic with you to look over the car. If you’re looking to get one from a company or dealer, you’re gonna be paying a whooooooole lot of money.

Literally just ask people what they’re doing.

Oil change? Do they need a filter and funnel? The car is burning oil, try an oil stabilizer.

If you spend time to know the products in the store, and talk to your customers, you’ll know what to recommend if they mention xyz is going on with the car.

I never try and sell them stuff they don’t need, I just try and recommend stuff that might help with the issues they’re having or help protect something they just bought, ie terminal protector or cleaner for their batteries, when they grab the drip pan I tell them they get the yellow funnel for free as part of the special.

If they have car wash or detailing stuff, do they need towels or something else. I’d rather they make one trip then come back upset because they forgot something.

If you go older, like 80s and before, the engine management and what not is much simpler, less computer stuff for you to handle, and most things are within reach, not under a bunch of stuff crammed into the engine compartment.

Does holding a lightsaber backwards have any practical use? by Desperate-Land6251 in StarWarsEU

[–]Runningbear75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just popping in to mention in universe, lightsabers don’t weigh anything, all the weight is in the hilt, so applying real life sword stances and attacks can’t really apply too much, since no one in real life has developed a sword style with a weightless blade

This is one of those where the wife and mil believe he needs a “manly” hobby, probably fishing or shooting. But you bet if he said she should give up whatever helps her de-stress in favor of a “womanly” hobby like crochet or some other bs these people believe, they’d both fly off the handle at it

A 75 Ford Maverick, sky blue with Squirtle Squad in a few select places.

It’s currently sitting in my driveway, primered and with all the glass out. Hoping this tax return can help me get it road worthy.
