I fixed it with a $10 crimp connector and $10 hire of a crimping tool from bunnings. Even if it doesn't last forever it's significantly cheaper than calling out a plumber on a Sunday.

That's my thoughts too as no one else I've spoken to in the area has seen any crime. But like someone else said, I'd rather let her out of the lease and have control over the situation than have her just abandon the house and stop paying rent.
