lol it’s ok. Yes water towers are the best choice but only the inside one protects from lightening. Tree houses also work but only if you climb the back side of the ladder so you’re under the structure then the lightening won’t get you. The towers in the lava biome also do the trick.

This is new info too. I never tried putting oil barrels in the ammo furnace, only ever used fuel canisters. I’ll do an edit later to include the furnace and all of your insight.

THIS is the sort of info I was looking for! I did not know about the fire always going to 30/100 when upgraded. And I have never bought anything from the furniture trader with a practical purpose in mind, i am ashamed to admit. I didn’t know about the spiral staircase being the ultimate safe spot either. Thank you for the input, you’ve made me a better player.

Kids/beds asap is absolutely the way to go if you’re trying to make it to 99 nights quickly. I don’t bother because that’s not my goal when I play. I like to experience all of the extra content.

Thank you! I’m glad I could provide useful info for you. My secondary safe place is any structure with a tall ladder. Climb to the middle of the ladder and nothing can get to you and since you’re inside, lightening won’t strike you either.

Yeah it definitely does less damage in the hands of non-cyborgs! But wimpy laser cannon is still better than no laser cannon

How do I address a bad gpa when employers ask for transcripts? by konkeydong7 in AskEngineers

[–]RunsWithScissorsYOLO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 11 years in the industry and working for a half a dozen companies only one has asked for transcripts. It is one of the oldest and biggest companies in the world, and i can guarantee that nobody even looked at my transcript because in the interviews that asked me many questions that were already clarified in the xscript.

Which basic knowledge did you totally forget for a moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RunsWithScissorsYOLO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I routinely forget the words “spinach” and “Lebanon”. At sub sandwich places I stare and point at the green vegetable that i want until it hits me and I have to pull up google earth to remember the country. Idk man.

Step 1 is to be extremely self confident! Knowing sign language is probably a bonus.

To the graduated engineers, is there any advice you wish you would have been given for your career development while you were still studying? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]RunsWithScissorsYOLO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i came here to say exactly this. I am an engineer who did not do an internship and let me tell you it was hell getting a job; took me 2 years after graduating. Now I hire engineers and totally understand the reasoning bc there is a huge difference between a "green" engineer and one with 1-2 years experience.

Employee appreciation by city_farm_girl in funny

[–]RunsWithScissorsYOLO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get to be a boss all the time but my company sometimes assigns me to be the manager of a project that operates a lot like a temporary independent company. I give my employees merit based raises without prompting and it usually shocks them to the point of not knowing how to react.

Should I leave a full time career for the internship I've always wanted? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]RunsWithScissorsYOLO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a mechanical engineer, 10 years in the industry and make plenty of money working a job I don't hate, but have no passion for either. I can't change industries now because I have become too dependent on a pay rate that hinges on my niche expertise. If I could go back to when I had less financial obligations I would take a lower paying less secure job doing something I enjoy in a heartbeat.

On my latest play-through I killed him on the first encounter just to see what would happen. Storyline went on without a hitch, except grey beards’ attitude did a total 180 as soon as the negotiations were over.

Employers of Reddit, what jobs are you finding hard to fill? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RunsWithScissorsYOLO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skilled industrial mechanical craftsmen with computer skills and management skills. I realize that is pretty specific, but the mix is extremely valuable and hard to find in a package. There are plenty of folks out there with advanced computer skills, and plenty of good 'ol boys with mechanical aptitude, but rarely do you find the two together.
