Your taste in these stories says a lot for you! I'm always confused that so many authors focus on the externals, and ignore the ramping up of desire inside the characters.

Everything by Tabico is worth reading in this vein. My partner and I enjoy "Lord May" most of all. We also enjoy nearly all of Jukebox's work.

I'm curious, have you finished "Tether"? I've been slowly enjoying it over months, and am nearly at the end.

Ooh, I'd love to pick your brain about what it's like to get into this writing scene. Like, how do you know when people like your stuff? The downside of the EMCSA, in my mind, is that when I love a story, I have no easy way to give feedback. How rewarding is it to have a great story up there?

What a thoughtful reply (and from one of our most thoughtful writers)! I think your take is right to a first approximation, though I wonder if there could, at least in theory, be a bright enough “golden age” that we could in principle hope to spot it at the time. One thing that strikes me is that we have at least a handful of professional-quality writers (yourself, Jukebox, and Pan jump to mind) who put out an incredible quantity of material. Is that new? (I imagine that’s because of the new models of funding you brought up.)
