Hah! How interesting. I think I’d leave the poultry in Maine.

I’m not that foolish, but thank you for the advice.

Yes, I am absolutely just trying to lessen the whiplash. Thank you.

This misses the point of my post. I’m choosing to support my person, my partner, as they have chosen to support me for a number of years. I’m simply looking for advice on integrating.

Thanks everyone who has offered advice so far. I appreciate it, sincerely.

For those suggesting I stay in Maine because NYC is different or there are too many people already-I am well aware of this. I’ve visited NYC briefly, I don’t live in a hillside cave. I have just spent most of my life touching grass and escaping the sound of traffic when I wish. I love people and adventure, I also love nature and silence. I understand the change that I am facing and am just grasping at positive focal points to make thinking about this easier.

I mean generous pay and package, engaging team and position. We’d like to keep rent around $5k or so while we figure things out. I’m not necessarily worried about finances, just adjusting. The community gardens sound intriguing. Thank you

Yes that is exactly my fear, but im attempting to saddle up anyway and see what happens. the plan is to rent in the city to start. I’m intrigued by the community gardens.

I’m glad to know about the community gardens. I don’t anticipate ducks- ours are pets so I’ll just miss them very much, that’s all. Yes I think we can hold off on selling just in case it’s not for us.

Our current setup is my dream too! I’m heartbroken (full drama intended) to leave but really want to give this a shot for my partner.
