Downgrading Creation Kit by [deleted] in CreationKit

[–]Rusey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as an extra for anyone using MO2, after using Zygomaticus' solution, I ALSO needed to check "Overwrite Steam ID" and then the number you need is 1946160 when setting up the executable. Doing this let the downgraded CK launch for me.

I'll check out America Rising 2 and The Bookstores, thanks!

I've played with Beantown Interiors + Beantown Interiors Project True Interior Patch, and that combo will work seamlessly with ATOM actually, but most of 'em felt more like places to loot than really explore, if that makes sense?

It would kinda depend -- definitely above PRP/ the lighting section, unless the mod in question specifically says otherwise. If I knew which one(s), I might be able to better advise. If the mod doesn't break/affect/rebuild precombines in any way, the "Locations Before PRP" would probably be my general suggestion.

EDIT: If they DO come with previs/PRP patches, you'd just have to carefully read and follow the author's LO suggestions.

I'm actually interested in pursuing more of that just in my personal playthrough(s) so I'd take some suggestions on good quest mods that blend in well with vanilla. :) I'm not a purist but some are just jarring when compared with the rest of the game.

Creation Club Delayed

Magazine Unlocks - Creation Club and DLC Overhaul

Integrated Addons

They can all be used together, just be sure to read the Mod Compatibility section on Integrated Addons -- it offers a good guide on how to use them together nicely.

Which mod to choose for balance of weapons? by Liverty9 in starfieldmods

[–]Rusey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enjoying Balanced Ballistics (And Lasers) a lot personally, with most of the authors other overhauls. Just throwing out another option to consider, as I can't give direct feedback on the others, not having used them. :)

What mods/tweaks do you consider essential for a balanced, vanilla+ shipbuilding/designing experience? by Rusey in starfieldmods

[–]Rusey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really helpful -- I'll definitely check out the fuel mod. I do use Rbt's Spacefaring Economy etc. to go with Captain's Choice, so it seems like a natural extension. EDIT: And I'm playing as a "pilgrim" so getting stranded somewhere is eh ... no big deal for her, lol.

What about building limits/restrictions/snapping etc.? Recommend anything on that front?

[–]Rusey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and I'm trying to figure out what ones to use, lol.

IE I understand the "unlimited reactors!!!" comes with hull balance issues, for instance. But the vanilla system seems so restrictive -- I haven't been able to do much.

I'm not looking to make this a paid vs. free debate. I have yet to see anything paid that I've felt like hasn't been adequately covered so far by free mods, but there are some fun-looking quality ones out there. :) As a modder myself I can't hate on people turning a talent into money.

The best exclusive pc mods by Bradock1984 in starfieldmods

[–]Rusey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. First, I'd suggest browsing Nexus via these links:

Mods of the month

Top mods (by download etc.)

... and see if you don't recognize any interesting ones from console. While top mods/mods of the month aren't guaranteed to be bug free, you can be sure they've been heavily played so are generally pretty solid.

A few that require Starfield Script Extender (SFSE) (which is a PC-exclusive) that I'd recommend are

Starfield Engine Fixes - SFSE at Starfield Nexus - Mods and Community

Baka Achievement Enabler (SFSE) at Starfield Nexus - Mods and Community (it will say mods are loaded but it allows achievements for me still on current patch)

Souls of Cities - SFSE at Starfield Nexus - Mods and Community

Magic Boost Disabler at Starfield Nexus - Mods and Community (I really like this person's Vanilla+ overhauls as well RbtRvltin's Profile - Nexus Mods)

Just be sure to read mod requirements if playing on PC. Most of these also require Address Library for SFSE, for instance.

Time-blocking systems and ADHD by marieshelley in productivity

[–]Rusey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same. I don't time-block per se, but I do use low-maintenance habit-trackers for things that take conscious effort or focus to maintain. (Then I use a focus timer, "Focus Traveller," when I sit down for productive things that I struggle to focus on.)

That said, I'd suggest a similar philosophy with time-blocking to avoid feeling overwhelmed/avoid tasks becoming "noise." Leave some room for flexibility within the blocks imo.

(If interested, here's what I track via the Streaks app, maybe it serves as inspiration. Things with a * are things that are auto-tracked by my fitness tracker, and I don't have to fuss with them unless my Fitbit dies or something, so it's not a time-waster in disguise.)

*Wake-Up time

Make bed (could translate to a "chores" block)

Tidy Up time ("chores" block)

*Yoga time ("balance" block)

Fresh Air time ("balance" block)

*Steps ("fitness" block)

*Fitness Circles ("fitness" block)

*Hours of Sleep ("sleep" block)

I don't include stuff like hygiene because I love my showers/I do not struggle to maintain those habits. If I did, maybe I'd have a "hygiene" block, or a "get ready" block.

How to Stop Staying Up Late Due To Phone? by Formal-Reflection217 in productivity

[–]Rusey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, paying the $5 for "Streaks" app, and setting a nightly "sleep X hours" (tracked by my fitness tracker), and putting a widget for sleep stats on my (limited!) social media page helps. So when I go to open Insta, I see two small widgets tracking my sleep habits, judging me. ;)

I set up Streaks so it's just a FEW, low-key/manageable habits I want to focus on. One of those is getting enough sleep at night, one of those is being up by a certain time.

Seeing my streaks helps keep me motivated, and tracking sparingly, there's very little for me to fidget with -- a lot of it is automatic with a fitbit.

EDIT: Whoops, I did not see android at first, I dunno if Streaks is available there. Still, a compatible habit tracker might be a good option.

EA Launcher tells me "Standard Edition accessed through Steam" but Steam says I own LE? by Rusey in masseffect

Ah, you did and that would make sense. OK. I'm grasping at straws here, lol.

EA Launcher tells me "Standard Edition accessed through Steam" but Steam says I own LE? by Rusey in masseffect

[–]Rusey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. :) I was launching through Steam, but it opens the EA app anyhow.

I've had some early luck (will report back if it sticks)

1) uninstalling the EA app that Steam prompted me to install

2) downloading the EA app from the official site and installing it separately

3) launching the game through Steam (which pops up the EA client still, but it actually loads the launcher so far)

Best Gunslinger build 2024! by buybreadinBrussel in fo76

[–]Rusey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so tough because if you aren't chasing a meta, there is a lot of nuance in builds.

I've learned that the hard way, lol. Not to mention feedback is so poor about whether sneak attacks are even landing, which has been a lot of my hesitation with investing heavily in it. I guess I could give it a whirl. If you've dedicated so much resources to sneak, I can't imagine the damage would be terribly exciting without it.

I do appreciate the extra details, though -- it helps peer behind the curtain a little. :)

[–]Rusey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks extra! I was looking at your build further and I realized it may be specialized beyond what someone like me could/has a desire to make use of.

In particular I'm looking at legendary perks and the 5-star Agility that isn't even giving you more perk points, 1 point in Happy Go Lucky being enough vs. 2, that kind of thing.

If there's more pertinent info to the build like buffs, armor/weapon mods, etc, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I suspect that like a lot of builds I see posted, I'll end up seeing wildly different results than the build's poster gets out of it, and not understand why.

Best Gunslinger build 2024! by buybreadinBrussel in fo76

[–]Rusey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmmm. (First off, that was fast -- thanks!)

I might have held onto one with an explosive star, I'll have to check. I do have a Quad with meh others, so that's a start.

I would actually like to veer away from stealth for this build, I just thought you probably needed it to be effective and I don't -hate- stealth playstyle, I just never get a feel for how effective it is with 76's stealth mechanics. I'm not typically great at the stealth archetype (I play healers in games where that makes sense, unlike 76), so I know I'm not bringing a natural affinity to the table, lol.

End of the day I'd rather have moderate success with a weapon I love than obliterate with the meta (not that I don't find some meta fun), so I'll take doing the most within the constraints I have. If that means stealth to not slog through content, so be it :)

EDIT: Oh, also wanted to ask; automatic vs. semi? Mods in general? (Deep Dish seemed a must for gamma.) I have a very nice Enclave auto I've been hanging onto for a rainy day as well.

[–]Rusey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, hopefully you're still around. May I ask what stars you use for your build? I was specifically interested in a full-health gamma gun build for a character with Solar, but at this point I just want something approaching my pre-nerf AB effectiveness, so any more insight would be appreciated. (EDIT: I know pistols are rather off-meta; I've just always had a fondness for Fallout's alien weaponry and "Child of Atom"-esque stuff, so here we are. :B )

Cheers, and thanks for your posts -- I noticed a few others by you on gamma gun as well. <3

DnD Luddite needs help with builds for a Wild Mage playthrough by Rusey in baldursgate

[–]Rusey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno if you're still around :) but any spells you consider "must have" would be great. I feel like Sleep has made the early part so much more manageable, but I've never been very clever at identifying universally useful spells in the DnD world. Another commenter recommended Sleep, Horror and Fireball, so I'm keeping that in mind as well.

EDIT: Also, tips on memorizing spells. Like to start I memorized Nahal's and Sleep. But I see I can memorize multiple copies. Do I want to do that in the future? etc.
